We've all seen stacks of pictures of Monument Valley I know, but it was a highlight of our USA trip and wanted to share them. I'd appreciate any suggestions for improvement on composition etc.

There's those shorts again..

Cool place and pics, it's a shame you have to pay to just drive through there !
Same with the Grand Canyon, gotta pay just to drive up to it anymore!

We found we didn't have to pay to drive through the valley, but the road was so incredibly rough, we didn't go far. If you pay $30 or so for a quide, they take you in a jeep. I'm sure that's why they don't fix the road, the guides would be out of a job.
The Grand Canyon, yep had to pay - but we had bought a pass for $80 that got us into all the national parks. Thanks for the comments, appreciate it.

Oh yes! I loved Forest Gump.
Driving up to Monument Valley was like being in outer space. Just loved it.

Whats with shorts & matching Van? Ha ha ha! I loved the mirror showed great creativity. Glad you had a great trip. Almost anything worth while will have an admittance fee. I thought that I would have made the grand loop this year by now. Sometimes life gets in the way. In laws went to New Zealand and had to come right back for family emergency. I thanks God I did not get caught up in that.

Images would be greatly improved if they were shot at a time other than mid-day. I know sometimes you just can't coordinate the sun's movement with where you are-

But it sure helps.

Yes so true. We were just kinda in and out in a matter of hours really. It was crowded, and after soaking up the landscape we decided to move on - a long drive through Kayenta and to Chinle. Speaking of that, I took one I like there in the early morning light, I'll post it.
Thanks so much for your comments.

Yep, shorts (or boardies as we call them), MUST go together Haha. That would be upsetting to go all the way to New Zealand and then have to rush home. NZ is a beautiful country, been to the south island.
