Let's see what's blooming in the wild, where and the date you saw it! It is OK to pull from your archives but don't post until you see it this year please. It's fine to post the same flower if you saw it in another part of the country. So head for the woods and enjoy!

I meant this to be a CHALLENGE, but since I'm a new person, I forgot to put that in the title. I hope you all will post some beautiful wild flowers.

This will be fun to compare flowers from different parts of the world. Thanks for starting the topic Cardinallady!

For most of the year, central Washington's countryside is dry and brown. But April brings us beautiful wildflowers in yellows, reds and blues. I took these April 10, 2013.

You know, that is always the best part! I belong to Walking Women of Brown County and we hike several times a month. If I could just avoid the "real world," I would be delighted! My camera is a good excuse to be bringing up the rear! The ones on the tenth were taken while on hikes, the others are at Mc Cormicks Creek State Park, Indiana's first SP, only 5 miles from our home. I spend much time there. It was packed, which makes me happy, seeing families and especially children, experiencing the joy only nature can provide.
Thanks, show me your wild flowers!

These are beautiful. Linda! I am an artist so I love bright colors but there is something about bright yellow that makes you warm and happy! Thanks for the nice comments!

Isn't that the truth?! Can't help but smile in the presence of yellow. What medium for your art?

And I'm sorry I forgot to comment on your shots: the white trillium is stunning! Violets are some of my favorite spring flowers, as well.

Many years in oil and water colors doing realism but after a spectacular art sojourn with some mostly Houston ladies to Machu Picchu, I paint large canvases with bright tempera colors, breaking all the rules and let my heart flow through the brush. My paintings truly reflect me now. My husband tells everyone, I used to know how to paint! I've just been commissioned, by a friend who has a home worth about a million more than mine and who I have told a million times I want to give her one of my paintings, we have been BFF's since childhood, to paint a large canvas for her pantry so she will smile every time she goes in, since my style doesn't fit her decor. I'm not offended at all, it actually made me feel good. When will people learn to put what makes them smile first and foremost. I have visions of her spending hours in her pantry!
Thanks for your nice comments and inquiry of my art.

Very nice images, Cardinallady. You have a good eye for composition. I would love to post some pics for you but none of the wildflowers here are blooming yet. Thanks for the hope of spring.

Thanks for posting jjadeco25! I think the 1st is a rhododendron, 2nd Pink Witch Hazel, 3rd Bluets and last is a fruit tree bloom. I'm sure of 2 & 3 but aren't sure of the other two. Nice photos, love that Pink Witch Hazel!
