For the truckies. Road trains in Australia's outback.
OUtback Queensland road trains. In these parts usually carrying cattle. On some narrow road, when a roadtrain is coming towards you, you have to get right off the road and stop to let them pass. They can be scary.
Evidently they have some very good highways in Queensland. Here in Illinois the state limits truck weight.
Kewl, road trains, good name for them. We also have limits on the overall length or have pilot vehicles to accompany them. Good shots .. good subject.
I'm pretty sure anything goes in Queensland. These roadtrains only operate in the very isolated areas of the outback, little traffic, roads can be narrow and bad with dirt shoulders that are deadly in the wet.
In northern and central Qld there are million acre cattle stations and so the roadtrains do a lot of hauling cattle to market.
I guess might makes right!
great shots and info.thanks for post.
