A setting dilemma?...

I am never quite sure of the composition for this shot but it is one that I have done often. Sunsets are a peaceful ending to what otherwise has been a hectic day. Where would you put the sun if you were shooting this scene, why? I try and NOT put the horizion in the middle but for some reason seems to have gotten closer that I thought it should be, perhaps I should cut some off the bottom? Some days there are more cloulds which might allow for the inclusion of more sky? I have some shots taken farther back but tend to like it a bit tighter as in these three photos.

Comments or post something you have taken?...

This may sound a bit cheesy but if I was able to easily visit that place regularly I would have to try from an elevated position to get the sun on top of one of the posts like a candle flame.

I think any of your shots work for me as they are

Sunsets shots are '2 a penny', to coin an English saying. A fantastic sunset shot is therefore few and far between. Sunset silhouettes demand an interesting object in shadow. Your first shot is the most competent, with all the composition rules in place. The old posts (or trees struck down by lightning?)are interesting and not as domineering as they are in the second shot. There is good balance between the dark areas and light areas. The colours are nicer and the sky more interesting with the bird in flight.

I like the sun to the right of the shot, but they are all really good.
