No expertise I know, but just want to share these I took last year. Absolutely loved Utah, how those pioneers did it I'll never know. Must have been tough.

Up near Torrey.

You obviously captured the stunning beauty of the area. Gorgeous photos! How long were you in the U.S.? First time?

Thanks Linda and Simon, for your interest.
We spent 6 weeks in the US last Sept/Oct, in San Francisco, Amtrak to Santa Barbara then San Clemente, San Diego, flew to Las Vegas, then picked up a little campervan and had 3 weeks touring Utah, Arizona, Nevada, then home via Hawaii. It was fantastic, we loved it so much.
I see you're from Maine Linda, it must be beautiful! One place I would love to visit one day. I bet you get some wonderful photos.

I hope you do. I grew up with this fascination for "cowboys and Indians". Always wanted to go to south west US and we did it...

What a great trek you had! I have lived in central Washington State for 10+ years now and ashamed to say I don't have a lot of Maine photos in my archives! But New England couldn't be more different from California and the southwest (sort of like comparing Australia's Outback with England, I suspect), so I hope you get to go sometime!

I think you're right about the outback and England as a comparison. Steven King books always gave me an interest in Maine as well.
I just posted some pics of our painted van if you get a chance to have a look. Jude.

Oh wow! Thankyou so much. I feel kind of inadequate posting my simple point and shoot snaps, when so many of the photos put up are beautifully professional. I try for an interesting shot, all I'm good for. Jude

I wouldn't worry at all...we're all hear to have fun with Photography. We all have had or still have point and shoots at some point in our journey. Heck, I've got two of them. Nice little pocket camera's. In fact, no one can tell by looking at a photograph what kind of camera it came from. So...come on now, don't be shy. We all love looking at and taking pictures.
Think about it anyway....Cheers,
James
