I have monitored the site for sometime until I made the decision to upgrade from point and shoot to DSLR. My gear is a Canon 7D, 70-200mm F4.0 L IS, 15-85mm and a wish list. I appreciate those sharing their expertise and experience to help on more rapidly progress along the learning curve; thank you. As a beginner, the frequent comment to "learn your equipment" and "understand exposure" is definitely sound advice. Hope to progress to where I can be a contributor and not a taker.
Living in NW Montana I consider Glacier National Park and it's one million acres "my backyard" providing many opportunities for shooting landscapes and wildlife. I am posting 2 pictures from inside the park.

Nice pictures. I went to school in a two room little school house in Kalispell when I was little.
two beautiful photos
Well, you must e a UHH or photo or both with a wish list. Looks like you have some great start. When were the pictures taken? Been up there and love it. I am from down by Yellstone.
Why don't you give us your wish list. Then the Hods can pick the crap out of it and confuse you. NO! They are a great group of people. It is just interesting to see how people make their decisions and what is on the horizon.
Keep in touch perhaps our pathes shall cross!
Nice shot of Many Glacier Lodge from the East hill. I used to manage St. Mary Resort just a ways South of there. Welcome to the group.

Looking at your pics, they are very good. We will have to remove your "beginner" tag!
Thank you! I had 4 aunts who taught in one room schoolhouses with 8 grades.
The pictures were taken end of August. The wish list was generated with the help of the hogs who I have come to find out have no qualms spending other people's dollars. yellowstone is also a great place and know it since I went to college in Bozeman.
Thanks MT. I have exposed a number of guests to the Many Glacier area, possibly, much to my detriment as it is getting crowded. While monitoring the site I enjoyed reading and utilizing the expertise you shared.
Thanks! The area makes a wonderful subject and hard not to get a "postcard photo".
Not hard to get a good photo in the area you consider your backyard. Nice set . You are on your way. remember we will all always be students .
Welcome to the UHH forum and howdy from Houston, TX!
Will be up in your area again in September. You'll be glad to know I already have a place to stay. Welcome to the Hogs. Glad you revealed yourself. Wonderful images and looking forward to more.
