Sometimes continuous shooting mode and a fast shutter speed are a winning combination.

   I agree. It works quite well. Good capture. Do you have any other pics of this sequence? (I recently posted some pics about the advantage of Continuous Shooting http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-107545-1.html) Thanks for showing yours.

I'm almost always shooting in that mode 'cause I'm almost always shooting birds!! It lets you catch the little things that are so delightful to observe. Like this nuthatch hopping to a more preferred perch, for instance.

Maybe there's better seed in this hole....

Would you mind sharing the shutter speed? I love to shoot birds as well, but am inexperienced and still trying to figure out the right adjustments to get these kinds of shots.

I was shooting manual at 1/2656 sec, f5.0, ISO 320, 170mm w/ a Canon 60D and a Canon 100-400 lens,

OMG! That turned out awesomely!!! Got to save & save for a good camera & lenses! Tired of paying $3-400 for point n shoot digitals that crap out on you! That is why Steve & I don't have good ones right now. We are working on that, however! So far my Motorola Atrix is doing a pretty good job for now!!
