If I shoot only raw (no jpg copy) does the camera setting in custom menu to adjust for low or high ISO effect the image?

High ISO just allows a much higher ISO capacity, i.e. you can now choose 12,000 iso or whatever when you have high ISO enabled.

Thanks for the reply. What I was asking was there is a setting in the camera custom menu area called High ISO or Low ISO for use in various lighting conditions; does this setting affect the image when I shoot raw?

Depends on other settings, are you shooting with auto ISO, do you set ISO manually, do you have set limits for variation in ISO in auto mode?

I normally shoot with auto ISO...have not set auto limits

Then the camera will use the full ISO scale. It means that when you shoot RAW or Jpeg in very low light you will get very noisy pics. I recommend you set a upper limit for the ISO or set ISO manually. I think you should not use ISO above 2000 on this camera.

Are you referring to the Hight ISO NR in the shooting Menu? If so, that setting determines the degree of noise reduction carried out when high ISO settings are used in the exposure.

Yes that is the setting I mean. Question: Does this "noise reduction" effect impact the image shot in raw format?

Yes, it will apply noise reduction whenever you reach a high enough ISO. I don't remember what the threshold is.. I don't have my manual handy but it tells you in there. It doesn't matter if you're shooting JPEG or raw, it will apply NR if you have it selected. I don't select that because you can lose image detail. Better to do in PP.
