These were taken on 9/12/12 just after noon using a Nikon Coolpix L120
Nice one  . I don't suppose you know what the secret ingredient is? My camera just didn't capture the greens and blues.
(Is the L120 a bridge camera? And were you using a lot of zoom?).
Nice set, Love the last one, it looks like Thor having a grumble.

Isn't it posible that that's what the iridescence would look like if you zoomed in on it? (Never tried it myself, so I don't know).

Yes probably
I do love them I would like to see one printed A3
It's an interesting subject. Apparently a full sundog is a complete circle round the sun - but they're very rare.
That was interesting. They're talking about something more than iridescence.

Thanks! If I have a secret someone will have to tell me what it is. I do not recall how much zoom I used but I would guess it was not at full zoom. The L120 is a bridge camera as far as I can tell from searching using UHH search above. It does not allow for additional lenses or filters that I am aware of.View NX 2 shows data for pictures such as focal length 94.5mm, digital zoom ratio 1.00, focus mode AFS, aperture F/16.3, shutter speed 1/800s. Here"s three more taken about the same time
