Hi fellow shutterbugs. I've been getting the newsletter for a a few weeks or so, but I thought I'd finally jump in. Most of my pics are taken at airshows and my camera is a Sony A330 I bought last "Black Friday." It is my first digital camera. My first pic is my first ever attempt at a night shot, with the moon obscured by the clouds. Using the night setting and letting the camera decide what to do, the hand-held shot lasted an agonizing 2.5 seconds. I'd appreciate any comments. Thanks!
The picture looks great to me, riverman. I mean, yeah, I guess maybe it is a little over-exposed, a little washed out, maybe, well... maybe a LOT washed out... As a matter of fact it just now disappeared off my screen too! WOW That's an amazing shot!

River Nan giz...as in Nancy You would not be the first to make such an error but I think you responded to me before with it correct!
now here is overexposed
oops... River NAN... as in NANCY!!! Maybe now it will stick in my head. On screen, putting r and n together "rn" looks a whole lot like an "m". I shall never ever again in the history of my whole entire life ever again make the mistake of calling you a man... when you're actually a NAN... as in NANCY!!! I'm so embarrassed... I'm hanging my head in shame... I'm calling my shrink.

I didn't see my own pic either until I downloaded it...it took about a 30-45 sec and is in the raw format. I take it from all the comments it wasn't very good...I never said I was a professional photographer. Like I said, this is the first time I tried to post. Maybe you can tell me what I did wrong (with the pic or the post). I am sending another pic. This won "Picture of the Week" in an online aviation newsletter. The award was a baseball cap....my first photography prize! I hope you can see it.
Hot Hornet
That's a great "Hot Hornet" photo, planepics. I can see why it won an award. Somehow or other you managed to capture speed with just the right amount of motion blur. That's what makes it really an outstanding photo. Congrats to you!

I still cant see cloudy moon...your hat winner is a winner for sure
What the heck are you talking about, river nan. I don't see any moon, and I don't see any hat. I swear I'm laying off that stuff.

tehehe baseball hat...the guy said he won a baseball cap/hat
Where is that guy anyway?
What happened, river nan? Where'd everybody go? Is it my deodorant? my aftershave? oops... I'll bet it this electric-blue Speedo I'm wearing. I'll go change right quick.

Good Hornet shot! The aircraft in a tight turn with the air condensing from the wings makes the shot. Good job!
