Here are a number of shots of the same budding flower. I'm striving to create an emotional response in the viewer - One of beauty and awe. This is one very, very small bud. I wish I knew my flowers and could tell you what kind it is.
Have I even come close? I'm not sure, but do like some of the images and tried using a very high ISO, limiting the Depth of Field and making adjustments in PhotoShop some more than others.
What do you think? Could I have cropped them better. Did I put the DOF in the right place.

You did a wonderful job with DOF and they are all very beautiful. I love all the looks you created and they all say something different!

Thanks you Wendy for the compliment. Yes each image of the same budding flower was taken with a different feeling in mind. I am wanting to give a greater amount of attention to the different response from a viewer simply based on making changes to how I shoot the same image using different techniques primarily in camera. I like the bokeh in this one.
Here is one more of the same budding flower.

Wendy's right, your dof looks great and they show a lot of detail- I'm seeing this from a "bees view"...

Looks like it might be a hibiscus.
