Late yesterday, the all-to-familiar UPS man dropped (and I mean dropped) off the Sigma 150-500 lens. Too late to really get a good test. Hopefully today. But alas, this time of year, and at this locality, things of interest are scarce.

1st impression. This is a big and heavy lens. I'm going to Walmart today in search of some cargo pants with larger pockets.

More as it develops.

Might get a good set of suspenders to go with those pants!

Happy shooting!

My friend...you are the "camera lens" equivalent of a drug dealer. :)

OK - now Mr. Lens Dealer - what lens would you push for me.
I am looking for a ?? to 200 or 300 for my Canon Rebel 400d -- whatever your preference is it must be in the lower cost - not junk but less expensive - I'll even have to buy a used one.
I am using my FD kit with an adapter for now.

Hi banjonut: Hmmm is this the same lens, where your finger slipped and you accidentally ordered? For hauling the thing around you might also consider a photographers vest. That's what I use most of the time for carting around the various lenses I have. It is a bit cumbersome but less so than trying to get up and down with them in your pants pockets and no need for suspenders. Just a thought...

I've got the vest. Works better for small items rather than something as large as a 10# coffee can. And yes this is the lens that the finger slipped on.

I did some searching on Amazon & eBay - found tons of 75-300 at $100 to $200 I am thinking of starting to save up for one.
