Very cool graphic. I just printed it as a panorama and will hang it at our next photo club meeting. Thanks CaptainC

oh how true and it doesn't only apply too photography.....I've been in the bakery business since Christ was in diapers. A lot of folks say "i can cook" then they open a cafe and go broke. More folks say "i can bake"!!! they open a bakery and go broke....... I bought my first camera three years ago and national geographic still hasen't called.......I guess they don't know talent when they see it......thanks for sharing captainc.....and if you know anyone over at natty geo please put a plug in for me!

This is awesome, the exact way of my thinking watching all these people picking up a camera and then opening a business three months later only to close two months after,
you can definitley chaulk me up into the "hobbyist" column,

Good point. I started serious camera-buying shortly after discovering UHH, and I'm almost broke. :D

not being a smart ass...but can you believe the number of people on uhh that just purchased their first "kodak brownie" and are thinking of turning pro.....i blame it on the information society.......you can read anything on the net.......trouble is too many people believe it. here are some headlines.

learn open heart surgery in two easy steps.......by harry carry.

make a 100 grand a year picking up trash..........by j.a. union.

make money while you sleep.........by g.o. welfare

become a glamore photgrapher in one day....by s.a. porn

and the list goes on.

How true, how true. At least half of the students in my basic photography classes harbor the idea of becoming pro. It is a disease that comes with a camera. The grass often looks greener in the neighbor's yard.

I agree........ I make my living in the bakery industry but I find my passion behind the camera. I have no desire to "go pro"....besides I really suck at it.

It's easier to work for someone else rather than own any business.

Nice post Cliff.
