I'm stepping a bit out of my comfort zone of this photo. Shooting inside a pourly lit barn. The only light was provided mainly by the window or cracks in the wall seams. I caught this fellow intensly working on something by the light of the window. I didn't want to ruin the moment or mood, so quietly took the shot without his knowing.

Great photo. The lack of light made a very interesting shot.

Has a Norman Rockwell quality. Composition guides the eye. Color simplicity, only brown tones, frees the mind to enjoy worker's concentration. You're smart to have seen the potential for this artful shot.

Thank you Kindly everyone. The photo did come out nicer than I thought it would when I shot it. I love situations where you have a chance to use light (or lack of it) to create a mood. This was another taken at the 1850's Old Homeplace Farm. This fellow is fixing something and in keeping with the theme, everything is made using hand tools.

Love the light and composition, and wouldn't have thought of it, but per previous post - the "color simplicity" adds a great deal, as well.

Wonderful story, yours and the look of the photograph. Lighting is natural and perfect for this.
