GBH Courting and nesting...
I'm about to go and get a few more shots of these guys. I find them beautiful but pretty humorous too.
I felt kind of sorry for the bird in the first picture. He was working diligently on building a nest but as soon as he dropped his stick and flew off, a neighboring Great Heron would steel it! I saw this happen over and over. Poor guy, he never did catch on.

Yes they were taken at the Rookery. These are last years, but I'm planning on going back within the next week or two.

Nice shots, color and background look terrific. Can't wait to see some color besides our MN white background we have now. Post the new ones when you get them and hopefully the one who is getting robbed finds a partner to gaurd the sticks while he's out getting more.
