Well I have to say that B&W seems to be sharper due to the limited range of color, so it is grabbing at the eye! Thus the color is softer and soothing to the eye. I only liked the B&W more because it was grabbing out at me. However, I downloaded the color shot and was able to quickly adjust it to have not only its color but also the ability to reach out to me. If you'd like to see the slightly altered version I'll show it.
Both were excelent captures!

Using "Irfanview" a freeware post proccessor,
I added 2% blue,
removed 2% green,
added ~15% contrast,
removed ~10% brightness
SAVED
then openned the saved picture and told the program to sharpen the picture 3 times.
The out come didn't add too much to the grabbing abilities of a 'soft blue' sky, but It seems to have done a lot with the groung areas.
Your shot, the one that I worked with, was good enough to leave alone. I just wanted to see if I could give it more of the grabbing power that the B&W shot has.
see the change in tree branches and building lights

Nice big sky and very dramatic. Like them both for different reasons and the first is virtually monochromatic anyway.

I can definitely see the increase in visible detail in the foreground and a little increase in contrast in the sky. Thank you for your work and suggestions.

I agree but thought the B&W added more drama. Thank you for looking and commenting.
Beautiful, dramatic, powerful. Need I say more?
Both are appealing, but for different reasons. The black and white is the more dramatic, but I'll still vote for the color shot.
