This is my buddy Jim who among other gigs plays piano every
Sunday afternoon at one of the leading local pubs here. Shot by available window light at ISO 1600 Nikon D5100.

Love the way you've isolated him#1 and reflections on the ebonies #3. Well executed & sympathetic set.

Thanks. It's funny, on #3, I was thinking of photoshopping out those reflections. You like them, I'm glad I kept them.

Yes, they add a nice touch.

In a few years, that could be Billy Joel (The Piano Man). He's getting on in years.

I like the first one too for the reason already mentioned about using a large aperture to single him out against the background.

Ok, big confession time. I masked out the background in photoshop and applied a medium to low end gaussian blur for that effect. Jim liked that photo of him but didn't like the character appearing in the background so I applied some PP magic.

it certainly worked very well. great set, but no:1 excellent.
