I recently did a presentation in front of a young group of college students and stripped out a roll of film from a canister to illustrate negatives. Most were completely lost.

i drank 15 mini tupperware containers of Jim Beam once... seemed like a good idea at the time, I hate Jim Beam to this day. I have a bunch of 100ft metal canisters around. and somewhere a nearly full loader.

They make great salt and pepper shakers for backpacking. Have two lids for each. Punch multiple holes in one for use and the solid lid for carrying them. Come to think of it might be good for sneaking Jack Daniels into ball games next season. Security wouldn't be smart enough to wonder why your camera is digital and your bag is full of film canisters. Thanks for the idea.

Get a platypus collapsible bladder and a pull top cap .

I was reading somewhere to keep them clean, they suggest putting a bit of vodka in them for long term storage... the light bulb went off brightly that day. You do have to be careful when making the morning coffee in the back country, I will say that it makes a fine cup of coffee when used to top off a pot and brewed through by a camp-mate unaware of your new found use for it. I'm just glad he didn't grab my gin!

You need a tiny warning label: "Vodka mixed with rocking climbing may be hazardous to your health ".

I have a small box full of the old Kodak aluminum twist cap film cans and some of the leather film holders that could be attached to your camera strap. Talk about neat!
