It costs $18,000 a day to conduct the tours. ( 30 on site security [uniformed].)
It costs $180,000 per hour to fly Air Force One.
Suggestion: Park Air Force One for one hour,, conduct tours for ten days.
How's my math?
Or send a couple billion less $$ to Egypt.

Perfect example of governmental accounting.
What they don't want you to realize is that the 30 uniformed security people, even if not conducting tours, still make $18,000 per day.

Both are good suggestions. Think that will happen though?

My husband and I were talking about that last night. Good point!
Does o'bummer really think he is going to endear the American people to him for saving the government money by refusing to have tours of the White House ?
Why? So he can walk around in his boxers now ?

I'd rather have President Obama cut White House tours than take money away from education or a number of other programs. Waste is spending billions on a fighter riddled with problems.
Yea, and what is this entitlement reform now that I am retired I need my SS and Medicare.

He always uses children when he wants to push his agenda but just to prove a point with this whole sequestration deal he will deny the children on school vacation the opportunity to visit the White House.
If I remember correctly the secret service who conduct the tours are needed in other more essential places because of work hours being cut.

I agree, services like: Going on trips with the White
House family dog, trips to the Golf coarse, flying with
the first lady and her friends on a world tour, while
spending out tax payer's money.
Yep, I guess your right there are more worthty place.
I believe the only hours that are being cut are the hours
spent on how to cut the BUGET.
The President going for a weekend to play golf doesn't bother me and his salary is a pittance. There are many people taking their income as capital gaines which should really be taxed as ordinary income. Other people take their income as carried interest. Tax rate for both groups is 15%. There are companies like Verizon that pay no income tax. While we were bailing out the banks in 2008-2010, the were setting up subsidiaries in the Cayman Isl. so as not to pay taxes to the government that gave them billions. Now these are thing to get angry bout.
I agree charlie, There is so much waste in govt, like a $100,000 caligrapher, a $100,000 obama dog caretaker, and how about the $50 million for new TSA uniforms, The list could go on and on. Maybe if they worked on a real budget for a change they could find the waste. why don't they clean that waste out instead of cutting to hurt. Thanks for letting me rant. :!:
