I shot this immature bald eagle in a tree at about 9 this morning, it was only 14 degrees out, but the light was good and the wind hadn't come up yet. He sat for awhile so I got several poses, just none without that darned branch in front of him. Soon as I tried to get a better angle he flew off. But I will keep the ones I got.

WOW! That's a nice one, limb and all. Not only is the eagle beautiful and the feather's pin sharp (no pun intended), but the bark is too. Looks fantastic to me.

Thanks.
And just for the detractors who love to put down this lens, this shot was taken with the Sigma 150-500mm zoomed all the way out to 500mm, hand held.

we shoot with a sigma too and its almost always hand held
we love it
most of our bad shoots are us or birds that have not learned to come out in full sun sit on the only branch around for miles and wait for us to get our gear out of the car lol

   Those dastardly branches are always getting in the way. I have that problem, too. I like the lighting on this one. Feathers look nice. Good job! Thanks for sharing. -- Gene
