Has anyone tried their hand at photographing the sun with a solar telescope?

I am thinking about adding this scope and curios if anyone has had any experience with it.

I must use my Ha more often this year DO NOT expect to get the sort of photos in the images, forget a dslr and get a good ATIK, and use stacking software, don't forget the motorised mount.

You will also need a selection of these

While I did not get any photos myself I was in Florida and a fellow astronomy buff was using the Coronado. The digital shots came out great. (close up of a flare, I only saw it on his LCD screen). He said the most important thing is still air. Seems that Florida's flatness is great for that.

Did you eat at "Dixie Crossroads" between Titusville and Cocoa?

Yes! An old favorite haunt. Great seafood back in the day.
Have not been there recently. Is it still there?

No, economy trip, carried all my own and only one night at a campground. Launch delayed and I had to return without photos, what a downer.

Oh yea it is still there. The seafood is every bit as good now as it was then. They opened one in Orlando but it closed.

When I get close to Central Florida.....I try to arrange at least one trip to Dixie's. My wife and I were trying to remember what the buffet cost when we first ate there in the mid 80's and I believe it was 12.99, now its close to $50.00. I would have to float a loan to feed my family of 5. How about their corn fritters?

$50.00! Wow!!
I'm not sure, but when I was last there with a party of 8, the cost was something like $34.99 each. We had a great time.
Just thinking about those corn fritters is making me salivate!

Same...... I grew up in Orlando. In the spring and summer, we would take coolers full of beer and ice....get to Titusville piers about 8:00 at night, rent nets and lights and catch shrimp and crab (just walking up and down the piers).....we would drink the beer and replace with shrimp and crab. We never failed to bring back packed coolers. But then the pollution began to take it's toll, with the growth of the Cape and the waters became to polluted to fish. Not sure if that has changed or not. Doubt it. Now that was well before Dixie's.....I think they opened in 1984 or 85.
