I was in the book store today looking at photo books and saw a book called 50 projects for photograhers. Someone did a very good job of following directions.
I tried adding the photos again but not giving them a title adn they showed up immediately go figure.
Sorry for the fat fingers
to the person who wanted to upload with ipad....you need the photo bucket ap...i think that is what it is called.
sorry if this has already been answered but I dont feel like reading all 12 pages.
I had submitted a photo on Nov. 14, but it has vanished from the film strip. Can some one tell me how it happened? I shall be grateful

Even if the photo was submitted on the 14th, if the date stamp on the photo was before November 7th it would have been deleted. Since the submissions are done anonymously I don't know who belongs to what image. Can you describe the photo or did it have a title?
Oops I sent in an older photo. I should have read the rules first.

Ok, so here's the deal. It's quite obvious that some of the images submitted were taken before the start of the contest. Again, I think the point of the "contest" is to get people out and being creative with your photos not dig through your files and find one that matches the topic. I had several topics in mind but tried to consider that people belong to this forum from all over the country and although just starting to get cold here in Virginia, that maybe an outdoor theme might not work so well for people in the northern parts of the country. In the same respect "Fall Foliage" wouldn't work for Florida or the desert southwest. The point is I tried to make this as open as possible for everyone to be able to participate. I really don't want to be a dictator so I am requesting that if you have submitted a photo that falls outside the timeline that you delete your entry. At the close of the contest I will be checking the dates and deleting any images that do not qualify. This rule may not be the same in the next contest, it's up to the host/hostess of the next competition, so keep that in mind for the next one.

I guess I'll stay away from the contests. I posted a brand new picture but it got deleted. I'm guessing the date on my picture said 1979 or something like that. I dropped my camera while traveling this summer and have been unable to set the date since then. So it wont matter how fresh my photos are, they'll get deleted anyway :/
Only a few of the pictures seem to fit the theme of "Mirror, Mirror on the wall." And one of those is very appropriate, but needs s lot more votes.

Ok, so out of 96 submissions I had to delete 61 due to being dated pre-contest. You guys don't know how much that pains me. There were some very good images and I hated to have to delete them. If you are a victim of not having your date set on your camera, I'm really really sorry but my hands are tied. Luckily the last several submissions were within the set guide lines so fingers crossed that the message has gotten out.
Not having the camera date set was addressed. (See quote).
Also addressed (multiple times) was the fact that the next contest host/ hostess may allow old images but that is not what I choose to do.
I also agree that not all the images convey the theme "Mirror, mirror" but it's your job as the voters to vote for the image you think is the best image for the theme.
Sorry if I sound curt but this is peat and repeat over and over.
Who would have thought asking photographers to go out and take pictures this would be so stressful?
And JimH, please call me out on saying "peat and repeat over and over". I know it's redundant. I also know I'll regret that last post tomorrow and will need a reason to laugh about it.
Sorry guys. Just frustrated.

MWAC, You don't know how much that helps! Really. Thank you.
:)
wow, that's a lot of deleting, a lot of work for you. I understand and agree that the photos should be new...that's what makes the contests fun. I'll just have to enjoy everyone else's submissions :)
It's too much of a hassle for me to set the date every time I turn my camera on...although I might get stubborn one of these days and do just that. When I dropped my camera the piece that holds the battery for the date (don't know what it's called) fell out and it's completely gone.
What makes me curious about this contest is the currently leading photo:
http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/photo_contest_entry_details.jsp?pcenum=109Titled: "Flower reflection water drops"
Shouldn't it be "Flower refraction water drops"?
If so, how is it a mirror?
Please don't take it the wrong way. It's a very good shot (and the votes confirm it), but I just fail to see how it relates to the contest's theme.
