My favorite is my Wilson, but who can afford shooting.45ACP these days? Not I!

I'm fortunate enough to have acquired two Wilson's. Until I bought the first one, I was starting to doubt that I'd ever be able to shoot a 1911 accurately. Those are wonderfully built pistols!

Thirteen out of fifty, and all by Dennis2146. You'd know this if you had bothered to read beyond the opening post of this topic.

That's just Photo Gallery. Looks like about nine new photo topics yesterday in Birds, and a smattering in the volunteer-managed sections.

So what? Aren't there enough UHH sections (more than 45) for you to avoid photos you don't want to see, especially when the titles describe the content?

The Colt Single Action Army is reputedly one of the guns that won the West alongside the Winchester Model 1873. Both the Colt and the Winchester were released in that year. Both went on to become the iconic firearms that were carried by civilians, sheriffs and outlaws alike. The Colt SAA was released in .45 Colt and went on to become the American military handgun up to the Spanish American War. The .44 Special cartridge was a very popular caliber invented in 1907 for target shooting.

Almost bought one of these a few years ago, but couldn't spend the money at that time. So, instead, I bought a Ruger New Vaquero. It's a decent shooter, but the trigger needs work.

I don't think so depending on your experience with shooting handguns. You are more than welcome to come shoot it whenever you are in the area. I would first start you off with some factory normal .45 Colt loads that would be like shooting a 38 special. It just takes some practice and you would be shooting it well in a couple of hours. Please let me know if you are ever in the area.

I dislike men who hand their wife or girlfriend a heavy recoiling firearm and then take great delight laughing when the gun knocks them on their butt or hurts them. That isn't fun and it also takes a woman who wants to learn to shoot learn to HATE shooting after one shot. I believe in starting easy and working up to the gun you want to fire.

I tried to help my wife adjust to shooting heavier recoiling handguns, but without much success. She's very happy shooting a .22 or a .38 Special. I'm good with that. I gave her a lot of credit for her efforts.

Thanks for posting the photos of your collection. I sure have enjoyed looking at them!

My favorite plinker is a Ruger Mark IV bull barrel. I sold a Mark II that I'd had for a long time, mainly because I really hated trying to put the thing back together after cleaning. The Mark IV is much easier.

Had a good friend who owned one of these. The full .44 Magnum loads were definitely a handful. I always attributed some of this unpleasantness to the grip shape and size. For a while, I owned a S&W Model 29 that I found much easier to shoot. The first time I took it for a ride, though, shooting a full box of ammo left me with a nasty blister on my right thumb. Guess I shoulda worn shooting gloves!

#7. Go into politics. Wasn't it Harry Truman that said something like "show me a rich politician, and I'll show you a crook?" Too true, I'm afraid.

My wife and I just watched this movie. I almost wish that this sort of plot could play out in real life.

Years ago I had a brand new Browning High Power, probably about 68 after I discharged from the USMC. I loved that gun but for some idiotic reason sold it. I miss it all the time. It is one of Browning's finest handguns ever produced.

You may want to consider adopting me.

Dennis

Thanks for the note, Dennis. Mine was built in 1973. I'm sure you could get another one, but certainly not at a reasonable price. No idea what they're going for. I've turned over a few guns over the years that I regret selling, but selling or trading this one never entered my mind.

If I ever get to Idaho again, I'll bring it along so that you can shoot it!

Thank you Bill. Yes it is. When I found it I realized it was just what I wanted as a shooter. The bluing is worn on the outside but the bore is pristine and it was the later model with the rounded cylinder release as opposed to the first model. The rear sight groove is squared as opposed to the rounded style of the first model. Shooting is a lot more precise being able to actually have a groove to place the front sight. I was also able to find an old Lawrence holster for it in excellent condition. Life is good.

This is almost comical - ticket fees.

"Single Ticket Fees: $4 Processing Fee per ticket - $16 Max per order, $2 Facility Fee per ticket, and when applicable, a $1 Promoter/Venue Fee for Rental performances. You may select to have your tickets mailed for a $2 fee at checkout. E-Ticket Delivery is free. If you require your tickets to be re-printed, a $2 reprint fee per ticket will be charged at the Box Office."

A couple of years ago, my wife and I wanted to see a local comedian. The venue was an old, resstored theater. So, I went online to buy the tickets and by the time all of the add on fees, surcharges and taxes were added to the cart, the per ticket cost had nearly doubled.

I was so irritated by all of the add ons, I just abandoned the cart. I call this voting with my feet.

Beautiful work! I also noticed a Browning Hi-Power in the image mix. First handgun I ever owned and still a personal favorite!
