The Tetons are truly remarkable. And, coming in from South Yellowstone is a perfect way to get an introduction. Here is a Teton photo from a different time of year. We were lucky to have a few minutes when the wind stopped so the reflections in the water were a treat.

The Canon EF 100-400 is a wonderful lens. It gives you so much flexibility. Sometimes, the creature that you are photographing just happens to move your direction. With the 600, you could be out of luck. The 100-400 is perfectly "hand holdable". If you really want the extra reach, you can always put a 1.4x or 2x teleconverter on and see what you get. With the teleconverter, you do lose some light, but in many cases you can just use the auto ISO function on your camera and you still will be ok.

The section between the one titled "Main Photography Discussion" and "Photo Gallery" is called "Photo Contests, Challenges, Periodicals". Right before each Challenge, in parentheses, are the words "a rerun".

I have been following Ugly Hedgehog for about a year and have truly enjoyed the discussions and Photo Gallery. I often look at the Photo Contest/Challenges but wonder just how they work. When it says "rerun" does it mean the "challenge" is now current? Do the dates correspond to when it is/was rerun? Thanks so much and looking forward to learning more about this aspect of Ugly Hedgehog.
