My husband was an amateur astronomer and eclipse chaser. We participated in 9 eclipses, often viewing adjacent to NASA scientists. They all seemed to use mylar film and filters from Thousand Oaks.

Same reason. Distance from subject to sensor plane for macro.
Always appreciate your sharing of your knowledge and information!
Seems like a great trip!
Mesa Arch in Canyonlands NP is a great spot for a sunrise shoot. It is a half mile from the parking area. This is a popular spot for sunrise shots. I recommend going early, and have a headlamp for the pre-dawn hike to arch.
Safe travels!
Bookends by Simon and Garfunkel There were two versions, and they reflected the beginning and the end of the album. Perhaps of life? The song inspired me start taking pictures.
.... I have a photograph. Preserve your memories. There all that's left you.
I am a beginner in the archiving journey. 20 years of digital photos. A year ago I was introduced to Lightroom.
I had a huge number of digital photos on my PC before I started using Lightroom Classic. My basic structure is by date, which I modify by adding a subject to the file folder, after import (renaming the folder to add a subject or event). But this still left me with major holes in finding images taken over the years, vacations, shoots.
Key words and using Collections are a great way to search your large number of photos. I have learned that I can add key words at several levels, which can decrease the time commitment for each image.
You can add a general key word to the folder if you are in Library View. If you go to the Grid View, you can click and drag to select a group of photos (or select all). In the Key words panel add the name, enter and it will be applied to all the photos. Then, within the folder add specific keywords to each image, (or group of images by selecting all).
We Transfer. Free, will hold large files.
World Photo Adventures, WPA, is an Australian company that is travel photography oriented. 30+ years experience, they might be a good contact to design a trip based on what your interests. Darran Leal and his two sons offer guided, small group tours around the world, as well as Australia.
I went on a recent USA Southwest Desert photography trip with WPA and was impressed with their knowledge, high standards and itinerary. They offer trips not listed, based on what is desired.
I've gone through this process (Olympus DLSR and lenses, got tired of lugging on the bulk and weight, plus domestic air carrier restrictions are getting tighter.) I tried the Panasonic bridge camera (sensor too small).
I ended up buying the RX10Miv two weeks before taking a three week trip to Australia. I'm very pleased with the camera, although it has taken awhile to learn the menus, select the best AF choices for the shoot and set up the custom buttons. I downloaded the Sony Help Guide (400+ pages) onto a tablet. Very helpful, as I was learning as I went.
