I really like the picture of Mt. Rainier. Where is the general location from which the picture was taken?

Directly above my house in University Place.

I just purchased the DJI Mavic 2 along with the DJI Care package ($79) which gets rid of the typical drone flying anxiety: it replaces two units in one year for a nominal fee and it covers total loss and crashes. Peace of find for sure.

That is a reassuring program DJI has. I’ve actually used it for my Mini. The only downside is that you need a carcass for the replacement drone. With insurance there is no carcass necessary. With that added security I’ve had zero sweaty palms when flying over water.

Very nice and inspiring drone pictures. I have the Mavic Pro 1 and love photography. But flying my drone there is always something that inhibits me and i fear don't know. I have the FAA registration done and got the registration card and the B4U fly app installed. Still have to overcome that fear in me and probably get my drone out and put it to use. But again your drone photos are splendid and love it.

Any particular settings that i should configure before i fly ? That would be helpful if you could suggest any simulator or website where i can practice. Thanks

I do understand your anxiety. I’ve felt it as well. But I’ve found that anxiety greatly alleviated after getting insurance for my drone via State Farm. It cost me $74 for the year and it was enough to cover my Mavic Pro and my Mavic Miniagainst pretty much anything. No carcass required should something go wrong.[/quote]

... also, give the following 2 apps a look:
Kittyhawk: this is basically the B4UFLY app but it gives you access to the LAANC system which will allow you to request and receive almost instant flight authorization in most US airport zones.

UAV Forecast: this app will give you flight conditions important to UAV pilots (including wind speeds at different altitudes). This one has a free and subscription use level. I’m not sure of the difference between the 2 as I just paid (I might be a dummy on that one) I think the subscription Cost about $20-$25 annually.

Good luck and happy droning.

Thank you. These photos were taken in auto with the exposure equivalency value adjusted then a bit of post edit (nothing added, only enhanced).

Nicely cropped photo!

How'd you freeze the quick draw action at 1/400? Is this posed? Or is this photo just after the peak of action with a subject stall?

...well timed flash?

Nice shots. Curious though as to why not ISO 100 with a slower shutter speed.

Thanks!

To be honest, when I took these shots we had stopped on the road to the sun really quickly to snap a few off really quickly. The road to the sun is very narrow and runs along the side of a mountain at the point where we were so I didn't pay much attention to my settings so much as I jumped out of the car, snapped a few shots and was back in and off.

I see what you mean. The second one definitely seems to give a stronger sense of perspective than the first.
