Many thanks for viewing.

Looks like a Towhee to me. Hard to tell the size and shape of the bird from the camera angle. The black head and brown color on the sides makes me think Towhee.

Interesting!
What kind of projectiles are fired from the revolver?

I believe it’s only a charge of bp. The riders are close enough to the balloon so the hot gasses and particles are what pop the target. No projectiles needed.

Photophile selected this challenge for this week. I am starting the challenge in hopes all is well with her and that she will be along.

Getting from here to there by way of a bridge.

These are a couple of cell phone pics(before I had a camera) so the quality is lacking a bit. A very interesting place that I will return to and do a better job.

Ouch! Too funny.

These people needed Dr Seuss in their life. Seems like it’s the story of the “Starbelly Sneaches”. Only once it’s done…..it’s done.

Opposite the teeth looks sharpened. Or is it just me?

Looks like a young deer, possibly from this past spring judging by the graphic on the paper background. The teeth have not been used enough to wear them down.

It’s a deer lower jaw. You can see the bone has been chewed by mice, squirrels or chipmunks. Most likely one of those critters pulled it through the fence into your yard. Or possibility a scavenger bird like a crow dropped it.

It's been a while since I last posted anything!!!

Looks great! Not a common angle one gets to see the bridge from. Both color and B&W look wonderful.

Decent education is the exception, not the rule. The majority of supposed education is nothing more than leftist indoctrination, no matter what some may argue. It's a shame for the minority of good people, like your wife, who are forced to live with and deal with educational leftism.

Thankfully the system hasn’t gotten to that point yet. When it does, she will have a lot more free time and the staff shortage will get just a tad worse.

Keep a close eye on him/her. Our 10 year old yorkie swallowed a piece of a toy last year and we almost lost him. He had never eaten any part of a toy, he would just tear it up. That time it was a major surgery and many many $$$. Didn’t care so much about the money but the poor little guy was tender for about a month after.

Before I retired in June 2007 I had been working with some younger teachers who were that bad.

I had students who changed schedules and teachers who came to me to get me to tell their new teacher that what I had taught them was correct. And some of the teachers argued with me about it and I had to actually show them the source material.

And some of those teachers asked me to "translate" notes I sent them in cursive. They didn't know cursive. I had "Fun Lessons" I would throw in for relief from time to time - one of them was "cursive" and at the 10th & 11th grade level I had students who had never been exposed to cursive. "That is that stuff my grandparents use when they don't want us to know what they are writing." I also had a lesson on Roman Numerals since some textbooks use(d) them for things that are not strictly part of the subject matter.

My wife has worked in middle school for the last 28 years. The decline in education over that time is shocking. It really has become a sort of state sponsored daycare. There are basically no rules anymore. Students can retake tests as many times as they want to get the grade they want. No student fails a grade and stays back to repeat it and if the parents are called in due to a child’s behavior, it’s never the child’s fault. Some of the stories she comes home with about someone’s behavior and smart mouth comments, I just tell her not to worry in 6 years or so they will be in jail.

None of them can count back change, either. Heaven forbid the machines go down; this world will come to an immediate halt.

Change isn’t the only thing, none of them can do math. For a few years I taught automotive at a tech school. At that time I had an electrical class and I was going over Ohm’s Law. The question was how many amps are there if the volts are 12 and the resistance is 12. Ohm’s law says volts divided by ohms equals amps. The student said I can’t do that, can I use my calculator? Sure I said. After he got the answer of 1, he still didn’t believe it. I had to confirm. It’s not the world that will be in trouble, mostly just the USA. Unfortunately they have dumbed down education even more.

I spent four years teaching automotive at a technical school before returning to the field. Teaching engine overhaul was one of my favorites. The students would do all of those steps except for the machine shop work and paint. They learned how to determine if the parts needed machining, replacement etc. We would then run them on a test stand. Lots of fun.
