I have one on my a7r3 . Good fit . Works fine .
A battery grip would solve the big hands problem and extend shooting time .
Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about changing systems anytime soon.
Don't buy it ! I did and I regret . Paid up front for it then after 3 months had to call and complain to get it .then it wouldn't " pair" with the app . The kicker is they knew it wouldn't. After they sent it , they said "we're working on a fix " . Wait for for an upgrade. I haven't bothered with it since.
With respect to all the different artistic styles out there , I shoot jpeg. I'm fairly new to photography and I've made the decision to master my camera first. So my goal is to get it right in camera. The advantages of shooting RAW and post processing are well documented. Eventually I'll move on to RAW . But for now, for shutterfly books and sharing vacation pics on social media, jpeg works for me.
Only difference I see is that the jpeg is out of focus. If it were in focus, then we could pixel peep.
I shoot jpeg and prefer to get it right in camera.
I'm a hobby/enthusiast. Jpeg is fine for me .
If I ever go pro , I'll try RAW .
" any thoughts on the 100 mp,, "
I started this conversation. I was in the market for a new camera. I'm sure there's a time and a place for such camaras. If I were a professional and such a Camara would add dollars to my bottom line, I would have bought it . But I'm retired and loving it. Don't want to make my joy of a hobby into ' work ' .
I settled on the Sony a7r3 . At 42 mp , it's plenty good enough. Even for pro work .
Yes indeed ! I can arrest to totally inconsiderate tourists. We're winding down our 30 day trip through Europe and it's like they relish ruining your shot .
Not to mention their uncanny expertise at cutting in line.
Hmm . Mr Loc chico California. No one is judging.
Pursue your art . Pursue your passion. Spend your money on a 100mp camera or any way you want .
No one is stopping you . No one is judging you .
Mr Breslin , agreed. For a pro making money to make a living, probably worth the investment. But I'm a retired old guy who doesn't want to go back to work . I just like taking pictures. The gfx100 piqued my curiosity because I was in Austria in the middle of fantastic mountain scenery, but I've calmed down now .
Wow ! What an excellent conversation. Thanks everyone for the input . I was curious, but this old man is going to stay with his a6500 and 3 lens kit .
Chuckle,,,chuckle,,, not that I'm in the market for a 10,000.00 to 56,000.00 Camara. Was just curious.
Any thoughts on the Fujifilm gfx100 or phase one 100 plus mp Camaras? Why and when is such a high mp needed ?
Thank you everyone for your responses. This has been very helpful and timely. Bought this Camara to take to Europe for extended vacation. Have to travel light . No tripods, computers or extra gear . The phone is the most portable and I can share pics with family and friends and social media. Would like them to be quality photos.
