I meant to add... Based on UHH advice and my own research, Shenandoah valley sites we aim to visit include Luray Caverns, Monticello (not quite in the valley), Museum of Shenandoah Valley (Winchester VA), Humpback Rocks, FrontierCulture Museum and any other interesting site we see along the way. Not sure how far south you're going but if you hit the Blue Ridge Parkway, UHH recommended "most see" sites include Peaks of Otter, Explore Park, Roanoke Mountain and, of course, Mabury Mill.

I’ve been to all the Shenandoah Valley places you mentioned- I live in the Valley
Good choices! Grand Caverns is another place we like- not as many visitors unless you pick a day when there is a school field trip.
