I watched an entertaining show last night featuring Sir Stirling Moss and the restoration a 1962 Austin-Healey Sprite that he raced. I had the MG version of that, a 1962 MG Midget. That was a great little car. When I was younger, I followed racing in Road & Track and Car and Driver magazines. Stirling Moss was a great driver, winning eighty-four races. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2020 at the age of 90.

The team worked on putting the car back into original condition, and then Stirling came to an event at a car museum and drove it. The show (Car S.O.S.) was on the Nat Geo section of Disney+. I'm watching everything I want before canceling it.

Stirling and his wife of forty years, below.

Moss in the restored Sprite below that.

I Actually ran into him at a Barrett Jackson auction in Phoenix a number of years ago. I was going into the auction room from outside and pulled the door open. This man comes rushing through the door and into me. We were both very apologetic. He rushed off saying he was in a hurry. I stood there saying to myself I should know who that was but shrugged it off. A short while later a car comes up for auction. It was a car Stirling Moss drove and he was in the cockpit when it came on stage. That's when I figured out who it was I ran into.

I shared this one with my sister. She seemed quite familiar with the product. Scary. Here was her reply.
"I think this was actually a remedy that was used to cure acne at the turn of the last century. Women could easily get arsenic and also used it to poison their husbands. Often it was baked into a nice juicy pie. Thus the play Arsenic and Old Lace."

I lived on the shore of lake Erie. It is the shallowest of the lakes. Our house was on a cliff 100' above the water and 120' back from the edge. The spray from a late November storm, before the lake froze, could cover the back of my house with 1" to 2" of ice. The Great Lakes are incredibly powerful bodies of water.

Does anyone remember that the Left side of the road is a hanger on from the Horse and Buggy days and has nothing to do with modern cars?

I live in the Sonoran Desert. See the attached for Info on the Organ Pipe Cactus. I don't know where you live.

https://www.livescience.com/49916-organ-pipe-cactus-photos.html

Once an organ pipe cactus reaches maturity it begins to produce beautiful white flowers tipped with shades of purple or pink. The blooming season is typically during the months of late April, May and June. The cactus produces funnel-shaped flowers that measure about 3 inches (8 cm) across. Like all night-blooming cereus cacti found in the Sonoran Desert, the blooms of the organ pipe cactus only remain open for one night before closing by mid-morning the following day. (Credit: NPS)

Don't forget that a TSA agent confiscated a congressional medal of honor from the former governor of North Dakota, who was traveling to West Point to give the commencement speech, because he thought it looked like a ninja dart.
