I do have a cautionary story. I was preparing to take group pictures of a large family reunion. My Canon 6D with a 24-104 lense was on my tripod, a ladder to help get a better view of the group was opened nearby. The day was sunny and breezy so I decided to run over to my car (about 20 ft away) to grab my cap. Just that fast a gust of wind blew the ladder over on top of my camera/tripod. Sadly, my lense was broken and out of commission. I was able to use my insurance policy to replace the lense, but my take away was “never leave your tripod/camera unattended.” I really do take extra special care of my camera equipment so this event really hit hard, but I guess it takes a thing like that to really drive home the lesson.

Hi. Thanks so much for your quick response. It is the weirdest thing...the presets are ordered alphabetically on my HD, but they are willy nilly in the area for my brushes on LR. I wrote to Pretty Presets where most of my brushes come from, took a screenshot for them and we'll see. I don't think she's ever seen that either. It isn't that they won't work, but it is cumbersome to have to hunt for a specific one. I appreciate all the comments and suggestions. Thanks. L.

Hi again...Sorry I wasn't more specific. I have purchased several packets of presets, some of which also came with "brushes." Before this happened they were all grouped together in their own groupings as I had installed them, ie "portrait", Sugar and Spice, Enchanted Garden, etc. You get the idea. I could easily navigate to whichever brush I needed. Last night when I went in to adjust a portrait...to my surprise all the preset brushes are scattered all over the "brush" category. Even though they have been given names by the originator of the brush such as PP for portrait...now they are totally all mixed up. This causes much consternation for me ! as it is really difficult to go through the entire list to pick the brush I need. I can only surmise that it was the upgrade that caused this as it happened after I had upgraded my OS. Any suggestions as to how I can get them all to "play nicely" as they had before, will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi UHH friends. A couple evenings ago after updating my Mac to the High Sierra operating system, I discovered that all my brushes in Lightroom 6 are mixed up. instead of staying with their original group , they are randomly scattered throughout the brushes making it difficult to locate the brush needed. Any suggestions for fixing that and getting them back in their original order? Thank you.

Thank you very much...I discovered that I was using the Zone category to autofocus so I changed it to single point. I did appreciate your very prompt reply and I found the You Tube video helpful, too.

Hi everyone. I'm having a focusing issue with my Fuji. I'm not able to make my focusing spot small for some reason...I think I changed something and now I can't seem to "undo" it. The green focus box is covering several spots at once. I used to be able to make the focus spot small and then make it larger. I recently completed a firmware update and I was told to put my camera back to the factory or default settings. I think when I did that, I may have changed things. I hope someone out there can help me...I have my manual, but have been unsuccessful in figuring out my problem. Of course, I'm also on a holiday right now so I'm doubly frustrated. Thanks for any help or suggestions you can make.

So sad about your accident...but thanks for sharing it with us. It sounds like you still have a sense of humor about the incident. I hope the camera and lens can be fixed.

Yes, I am running on a MAC. So it isn't a problem unless I need to extract the catalogue and it is ok to continue as I am? Thanks.

Hello UHH friends. I use LR almost exclusively and am currently running LR 7, but not the CC. I have my LR set to back up my catalogue once a day when/if LR is opened. A few weeks ago I started getting this message when I click to back up my catalogue: Catalogue size is more than 4 GB. Please use a third party utility such as 7-zip or StuffitExpander to extract your catalogue backup. I just use one catalogue and I don't have thousands and thousands of photos registered to LR. It appears to backup when I click Continue, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has encountered this message and what I should be doing about it. Thanks for your expertise.

I don't do videos, but I purchased a 6D three years ago and I love it. I'm a grandma and take many beautiful photos of grandkids. I wouldn't be without my 6D and I'd purchase it again. I like how it fits in my hand and I really don't need the 5DMarkiV and all those bells and whistles. I can't speak to the 80D, but I won't hesitate to recommend the 6D.

Thank you very much...I've made "notes" of your suggestion and I'll try that. Many thanks for simplifying this for me.

Thanks, friends. My son-in-law helped me get the photos into iphotos on my computer...now I'll need to figure out how to import the ones I'd like into LR. It does seem to be more cumbersome than it used to be. I think that I "see" the photos on my phone, but they are actually in the "cloud." That is probably why LR wasn't bringing any of the pictures up...technology can be frustrating sometimes. Thanks for the help.
