#2: Yellow Crowned Night Heron

I'm thinking of heading to Pocosin Lakes-Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge areas in Eastern North Carolina. My primary goal is shooting black bears and the large concentrations of tundra swans, snow geese and other water fowl. Anyone else shoot this area? Thoughts? Tips? I've been to the Outer Banks/Nags Head area once, so I'm somewhat familiar with the area.

While I wanted a D500, I bought a refurb D7200 w. two lenses last year for half the cost of the D500. I shoot a lot of birds, wildlife and motorsports. While the burst rate, focus and tracking system on the D500 is superior to the D7200, the $ savings on the D7200 allowed me to buy two longer lenses.

I was there in May. One of our favorite ciities.
