It’s likely that many young men dropped out of school to join the Army. One of those was Audie Murphy, the most decorated soldier of WWII. He falsified records at age 16 to get in the Army and at age 19 received the Medal of Honor.

It doesn’t matter if you shoot RAW or JPEG, you don’t have to do post processing on either one if you don’t want to. However, if you shoot JPEG and choose to do a little post processing, you will be using the same basic procedures as you would if you shot RAW. The difference is that RAW gives you more to work with so you can do more refined post processing. Why do you use a DSLR instead of just your cell phone? Many people achieve excellent results with their cell phones and are completely satisfied with the results.

Most of us use a DSLR, or something similar, instead of a phone because we can get more information, more detail, and more control from the DSLR than we can from the phone. Just take your pictures the way that satisfies you, JPEG or RAW, and don’t worry about what others are doing. If you’re truly interested in why some people use RAW, then listen to their reasoning and after listening, you make the decision what is right for you. There is no right or wrong answer, just your preference. Use whatever method gives you the best results and be happy with those results. If you are not happy with you results, then by all means ask for help and listen to the advice you are given. It is up to you to decide what works best for you.

I am rather portly myself and also purchased a Camco but my experience was just the opposite. I ordered a XXL and it swallows me. I’m about 5’9” and weigh about 240, but my vest is large enough to fit over all my heaviest winter clothes with room to spare and it hangs below my butt. Mine must really be a 3XL or 4XL. I think the problem is the Chinese just don’t understand America sizing. I don’t know but I assume mine was made in China.

My father used a double edged razor most of his life and like him that is what I used for a lot of years. I finally switched over to the multi bladed safety razors until I got tired of the occasional nicks and the mess of shaving. I finally found a Braun electric razor that I liked and have been using that for the last 15 to 20 years. I don’t get quite as close a shave with the Braun but really there is not much difference.

On a side note, we moved into our new home in 1949, and there was a medicine cabinet mounted in the wall above the lavatory. As a child I was always curious about a slot in in the back of the cabinet labeled razor blades. For a while, I thought that was where Daddy got his razor blades, but I finally realized that was for razor blade disposal. I don’t know if Daddy actually used that disposal method, but I robbed a few of his new blades and dropped them through the hole to see what would happen. Does anyone else remember the slot in the medicine cabinet? Some day when that house is demolished, I wonder how many blades they will find inside the wall below that medicine cabinet.

If you look at the signature in the upper left corner you will see the number 2. That means there are 2 “hidden pictures“ in the cartoon. I happened to read something about the comic strip and they explained what the number means. I don’t remember why the cartoonist does that but sometimes he will have 4 or 5 items, or more, in the cartoon. Maybe that’s part of why it’s called Bizarro.

I don’t know this as a fact but I have read that some Arca-Swiss “type” plates may not tighten completely in Arca-Swiss lever clamps. It seems the lever clamps don’t put enough pressure, holding force, on all plates. However, the screw type clamps will tighten on all Arca-Swiss type QR plates. Years ago I read that on some manufacturer’s website. I opted for the lever clamp but if I had it to do over, would get the screw type even though I have never had problems with the lever clamp.

My original tripod had the Manfrotto style QR system and it worked well. But when I bought a new tripod, I changed to the Arca-Swiss System and I much prefer the Arca-Swiss system.

All 3 of my children have received their checks. My wife and I have not. We both still work and draw SS so our incomes may mean we will be the last group to get a payment.

I have said it before and I’ll say it again, I bear no ill will toward those that are hoarding toilet paper, as long as they don’t try to resell it for a large profit. However, I won’t shed any tears if they open a package in a couple of weeks and find their stash infested with silverfish and cockroaches.

When I had an Android phone and all my family had iPhones, we tried Skype but it didn’t work well on Apple products. I finally gave in and got an iPhone so we could FaceTime. That works pretty good but not great.

We’re now using Skype for our business conference calls and it works ok but a lot depends on your signal.

We were using Zoom but the company determined it was not secure so it has been banned by the company. While we were using Zoom it was about like Skype, how well it worked depended on your signal.

Zoom has been banned by my employer and I have read that many schools were using Zoom until they had issues. Now the schools are dropping Zoom. It seems the Zoom conferences are open and anyone can log in. Hackers find a Zoom meeting, log in, and begin collecting data from the participants.

That’s a great picture. I wonder how many people born after the 50s even know what Route 66 is and was. It has been a long time since I drove any part of Rte 66 and I wonder how much of that part of our history remains.

A permanent fix whether your bearings are open or sealed is to install a zerk fitting and pump in a food grade white lithium grease. Pump until you feel a slight back pressure and you should be good to go. I got this information from a neighbor, whose nephew talked with a co-worker, whose best friend worked at a bearing factory that made all ISO bearings. The man said it was a little known secret that the bearings are tapped for zerk fittings.
