This is all subjective - Comparative pricing, while relevant, is highly subjective, hard to do without competing examples in hand, mounted and tested, etc. etc.: For anyone interested in the opinion of one who uses all the purchase platforms, here goes;

Before making it an example for the OP: If you have never, buy a couple of those $75 lenses and tell the members what you get - might be great/might not - 50/50 chance it will be OK, might even get a like new, but doubtful. And, don't call a used lens "like new" unless you have held and used a new one recently.

The OP appears to have a fine, clean used copy, probably bought new, probably a good usage history with it...AND I would imagine a USA model, which means a lot. It looks well cared for...and you have the OP's word that all is good. If the original lens mount, then probably never dropped (as the "breakaway" mount is first to go).

The $$ value is up to the OP and whoever they strike a bargain with.... Returns and warranty, returns are up to the OP, warranty, you can purchase one if needed, they are pretty reasonable, how necessary is up to you. Having bought from all platforms - several purchases from members here, good, clean, working...could I have bought the same itme cheaper? Yes, did it matter in the greater scheme of things, no.

If you buy much from Ebay (and other social platforms) you would know that the descriptions and photos can be misleading; (1) way overated, (2) < accurate, (3) sometimes looks of fraud, which is why "No Returns" is almost a red flag (even though there is no such thing as "no returns" on Ebay)...if it ain't what was advertised....Ebay will fix that (sellers/buyers with experience know this). I have bought (on Ebay) a couple stinkers, a lot of above average to really good, a few "excellent", and a couple of bargains have turned out to be gems, and many often just as described...but I never know the truth till I open the box.

My favorite "bad buy" was a Tamron zoom that someone had removed the focus stack from, of course the seller "had no idea", which can work for Mom & Pop thrift shop resellers, but not for camera dealers. AND the item should always match the photo. Sadly, 4 episodes where I had to ask Ebay for help were all camera dealers, 3 of these have physical camera stores (you may have visited)....they were the worst, and not a good example of a local camera shop or anything approaching good customer service (they were not our usual group everyone buys from here). The majority of private sellers will capitulate when there is a problem.

Comparative pricing is subjective....but is a baseline. there is a huge difference of opinion on condition with items on Ebay. If you buy one cheap and it looks/acts new, you've done very well.....the majority of cheap buys are mostly useable, OK looking, functional, may get years of service, may not... quite often a "Crap shoot"!

Used from our favorite vendors = should not be a problem, should be as advertised, should be good value in the deal, usually no issue with prompt returns, I've never had to use/try to use one of their warranties.

Some would feel fine buying at half price, from a fellow member...a more comfortable purchase. And the OP may be willing to bargain, and if so, you don't start out with basement pricing, if you do, nothing left to bargain... Some like buying from unknowns, some don't. There is a level of trust inherrent with this platform, and since we see/hear little or no complaints, probably well deserved.

I would also say, in general (my opinion) that if it is not something you are looking to buy....then your opinion of the ad/sale/pricing is somewhat irrelevant.

Worth repeating, repeating and way under priced @ $.02, I'm sure I'm not alone. Mac Taggart

Larry, Check ready to go postal. I have only one question, and this comes from a NOVICE.
How does one attach this ball head to tri-pod?? I have some tri-pods but don't see how attachment is made.
I'm HOPING that what your posting next is not my only answer, or another HD 3 legged one. To be honest
my camera closet is getting full. Don't laugh, you were there once! Reason for wanting your ball head was
to enable my pursuit of panos.
Thanks, Dave
