Just thought I would pass this along. By marking it with a black sharpie, it gives me a quick visual reference point as to if the mounting screw has worked itself loose a bit.

Sharpies rule !! great tip !

I think I will keep my film Nikons in this bag on a shelf. It's a little ragged to trust in the field but maybe keeping the film cameras in it is an appropriate use. The digital Nikon will continue to have fresher bag. Thanks for most of the suggestions !

I agree, I still have my old Domke bags and use them to hold photo accessories. I dont care if they look frayed or not, they still have use for you or someone else.

BTW I was staff photographer with Jim Domke on the Philadelphia Inquirer Newspaper when he and the staff pioneered and developed these bags. I went on to help Jim test many of his line of products under different conditions around the world, before he sold the designs and trademarked name to Tiffen.

Jim, a great photographer and photo editor, is still alive and kicking in the Ft. Worth area of Texas. Give him a shout out on social media if you want.

Cheers

The Photo Bag Museum is in my office closet, along with the "used it years ago" museum, and the "it must be good for something" museum. Marie Kondo is not welcome in our house.

I am not so attached to things but I cherish the memories they bring back when I see them or use them. Not a huge fan of Marie either.

I am not sure what to do with this well worn icon the Dome F2 camera bag. This was a gift from my photography mentor and probably dates to the late 70's. Well worn but still works , it has been retired and replaced out of respect !! A true classic ! Any one have any thoughts on what to with this bag ?? Thanks !

Nikon SC-17 cord to move flash off camera, this one was modified using microphone connectors to add a 10' extension and maintain full functionality of speed lights. This was used extensively with Nikon 8008 and SB-24 speed light . may be great if you need OCF with radios. Also is a Nikon remote shutter switch , added a plug to use a drop cord to work away from camera, and an old school flash bracket to raise that flash for run and gun events ! $10.00 for all , you pay shipping !!

I have never purchased a tripod. I visited a number of manufacturers websites to familiarize myself with carbon fiber tripods & that was overwhelming. I’ve been reading the many posts on UHH about purchasing tripods, especially those about using Ebay. Somehow, my wife ended up with $125 worth of Ebay gift cards. So I went to Ebay and searched carbon fiber tripods and there were over 1, 300 items. I’m asking any UHH folks that can help me. I’d like to purchase a carbon fiber tripod & mount, if it’s even possible, for around $400 or less. I have a Canon T7i. The heaviest lens I have weighs just over 2 pounds. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lots of good suggestions , good idea to keep mounts the same , Arca- Swiss is a good standard to use. Versatile and lots of heads use compatible mounts. Saves headaches switching cameras , monopods etc.

It may not be the sunset itself but what's the scene in front of you ? Who is in it or what is there to make it interesting, there is the art.
