Today, we had very bad weather with strong winds and super cold. Through the glass door in our kitchen I took these photos of woodpecker which was sitting on a tree in the backyard. Strong wind had made the feathers of the woodpecker puffed up.
The temperature was about 23 or 24 degrees the day I took a photo of this Eagle who had dived for a fish a half-hour before and sat there until this frosty water droplet formed on the tip of it's beak.
560mm was used. About 125-150 feet in distance on a sunny day.
My struggle with white birds continues. I believe I am improving on exposure but it an ongoing process. Here are the white birds from the last river excursion in the boat.
Try Spot Metering Mode. You will get more detail and control of the feathers' definition.
Set your Metering Mode to... Spot Exposure to........................Program
