Your Hummers are what I consider the ones I need to set my standards by.

Was that the model that you could get with a fluid drive/clutch? The newspaper office manager in my town back in the late 50s had a dark green Plymouth like that one with some sort of fluid clutch. IIRC, he could sit at idle, in gear, without holding the clutch in.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I took my drivers test in my folk's 53 Dodge sedan (Coronet?), it had the same type of clutch you are describing. It was a Gyromatic transmission. If I remember right, the only time you needed the clutch was taking off!
That car was replaced in 1961 with a new Dodge Pioneer station wagon with a push button drive!!

Good captures of an accident waiting to happen.

Take a look at what is driving the Bronco and the passenger. Those boys aren't interested in the Bronco or safety.
I remember those days---well kinda!!

Mick, thanks for the quick reply and I think you asking price is good. Now, I will have to do some thinking and deciding what I can do!!

Thanks,

Cindy, very impressive photos --especially #1 and #4. I have spent some time at Fort Peck and Sakakawea, and of course my pics aren't as good as yours.
I have two questions. Did you pull your boat behind your 5th wheel? Second question, how many miles did you drive on that trip? I know it takes most of a day to drive from Columbus to Sakakawea---and lot's of miles!
We spent a week at a VRBO near Garrison ND on Sakakawea!
Thanks for posting,

You are right Chief, it was truly a maintenance nightmare. They could kneel down and load the thing up, then it could not get back up from the kneeling position. Here is a quick blurb from Google--The C-5 had the highest operating cost of any weapon system, and the trend was rising in tariff rates and reliability and maintainability costs for the C-5. The maintenance man hour per flying hour illustrates the difficulties in the C-5 force. The A models consumed 46.0 maintenance man hours per flying hour, 16.7 for the B model (CY96 data).

The first one of those I saw was in 1970 while stationed at Dover. I worked on the flightline on C-133's (ugh) and somebody yelled out , "there's a C-5 coming in". Of course we all got up on top or our airplanes and watched it land. What a monster!! If I remember right, that when it took off later, they had to close the highway behind the end of the runway due to the jet blast blowing across the highway.
What a beast!

Man, that is a beauty. I would have never even thought of pixel peeping on that one!
I would have that on my wall for sure.

At 80 I find myself shooting with a digitized 4X5" view camera and a Fuji GX680 with various digital and 4X5" and 120/220 backs. Yes, my back is killing me but I'll do it till they close the lid over me.

Artcameraman, At 76, I find your post very encouraging ! I have assumed I could keep lugging my camera and the rest that goes with it. I haven't thought about how long I can do that, but I will always remember your statement!
I also will do it until they close the lid over me!!

Thanks,

Neat shots---especially the one with rabbit! We got that snow here also--without the wind. Columbus!
I see that it is snowing south of us at Red Lodge right now!!
Hopefully we can get some here again.
Again, nice pics!

Great pictures of a beautiful pigeon. I have never seen one before! They must not come this far north!
I wouldn't shoot one even if I could. Now I would shoot Eurasian Doves though. They are everywhere -here anyway.
Is the Band-tailed pigeon bigger than Homing pigeon?
