"Would like to shoot the kids with the city as background".

Take the Staten Island Ferry (It's free). You can get great, skyline photos of Manhattan, Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty. All could be used as background. Go during the day and avoid rush hour commuters.

I, in my infinite blundering, have managed to get every single picture on my computer into my Lightroom catalog, this includes all the buttons and any type of icon in what appears to be all of my programs.
I have played around trying to solve this but have not had any success and am thinking about contacting Adobe for help before I remove all my photos and reinstall the ones I want. I've not heard of this before so thought I would put it out here for your entertainment and to see if any knows of an easy fix.

In Catalog, you can filter on file type, in the Text Filter. For instance, icons are .ICO, so run the filter using *.ico and remove the resulting files from the catalog (don't delete). I don't know what other formats are used for buttons or other type graphics. Good luck.

I am using the 18-300 more often than not. I like that I don't have to reach for another lens and make a change. I would find myself looking for a a "safe" place to swap out a lens. For landscapes this was not a big issue - just a pain. For wildlife and street shots, I was missing more shots than I was taking. I'm an ametuer, not a pro. I'm 74 and take pictures at family gatherings, vacations and early morning walks with my dog. The 18-300 allows me to compose and take a quick shot. I use LR 6.4 in post to dress up the photo. Hope that answers your question!

Hi,
This is my first posting although I’ve been a member for a while. All these photos were taken with a Nikon D5300 and the Nikor Lens 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR. I live in Sugar Land, TX. First 3 photos were taken in backyard and the balance in local parks. Comments are welcomed. Can anyone ID the snake and or bird?

I use Acrobate Pro XI. After openning the file, display the Thumbnail view. Right click on a Thumbnail; a menu will be displayed. One of the options is to Extract Pages. Select that and you have an option to extract pages as seperate files. This is not an option in Reader.
