Since you have the lens, it wouldn't be a bad idea to spring for the adapter, i have the FTZ adapter and they work quite well !

I'm enthralled with convenience and performance of the Niko 1 Systsem and would like to swap an exceptionally nice (low shutter count) D600 for a Nikon 1V3 with finder and grip. I can offer an equally nice D90 if your preference is for DX. I'm in New Hampshire but will ship.

I have a Nikon1 j5 when it first came out years ago along with a lens adapter and use it as much if not more than my new mirrorless cameras.

Welcome to the world of electronics, what's new technology today is old technology tomorrow. I own DSLR's and mirrorless cameras, one thing will never change, the final photograph, Dslr cameras still make great looking photos!

An observation here, as I have no add-on handgrips on my cameras. Like many photographers out there, I am right-handed. So if we are able to spin dials, turn knobs and reset buttons easier with our right dominant hands, why is that hand tied up grabbing the grip? Wouldn't it make sense for manufacturers to offer an add-on hand grip that attaches to the left side of the camera instead? You can now hold the camera with your left hand instead, and make all
your adjustments with your dominant right hand.
An observation here, as I have no add-on handgrips... (show quote)

Since most people are right handed, the person will be able to steady the camera better.
