I frequently use "High Pass" filter with difficult subjects. Filter>Other>High Pass and change blend mode to overlay or soft light

I am about to replace my Late-2012 Mini Mac with either a new Mini or a 27 inch iMac. Is anyone using this latest combination and what are your experiences?

I considered going with the M1, but eventually decided on a 2020 Imac, plenty of ram (added after purchase to save a few bucks), an ssd drive, and the newest cpu. From my research, it appears the M1 is really fast and will eventually totally replace the intel systems. However, I was unsure of the integrated graphics component and preferred the discrete Radeon 5500XT. I also wanted the size of a 27" machine and didn't want to wait a few months or a year for the M1 production to catch up. Very pleased with performance with LR, PS, Topaz, and Luminar.

Just bought another camera using Greentoe. The deal is- you make an offer and they send it out to legitmate, US dealers. Going price was $2000, offered $1500 and received deal for $1600 from a licensed dealer. Not sure how some dealers can come in so low, but feel safe with a return policy that gives me the opportunity to register the new product serial number for authentication . Saved a couple of thousand over the past few years.

This is a very clever way to get smooth panning action while keeping the camera low to the ground for the prized eye-level shot. It was first developed for use on a beanbag placed on the hood, roof, or window of a car. (Safari shots). I found it fits perfectly into a frisbee which enabled me to slide my camera and long lens on the beach to get some incredible shots of shorebirds only 3 or 4 inches high! I decided to leave it mounted in the frisbee although it can be easily removed. Unfortunately, I no longer have use for it because of health issues. I ended up with a "grey market" lens from Tamron, so could not get any company repair assistance. Eventually, had it repaired by KEH. They primarily sell used lenses, so have repair techs on staff plus the possibility of many "used parts". Worth a shot...worked for me!

Persistence paid off for me. Used similar methods on a canon (windex on paper towel, placing head in tray to soak with windex, left overnight two or three days) and then did it all over again...eventually freed up the clog.

Someone suggested we all learn in different ways. I have to perform an operation as I'm being told how to do it, or I'll never remember the steps. I use my macbook to run a tutorial (which I can pause) while I perform the editing operation being discussed on my desktop machine. Frequently will write the "recipies" on a 3x5 note card to come back too later.

I used a camera with a macro lens on a tripod and positioned the slides on a lightbox with a right angle cut from matboard. Didn't time it, but did several hundred slides in very little time.
