I carry my camera the same as you using the Peak Design Capture clip on my backpack, with the sling strap for emergencies. Sounds like you need something like a pair of Tool Belt Suspenders/Work Suspenders with Padded Foam Adjustable Shoulder Straps, search Amazon. They should provide a harness similar to what you are use to sans the prohibited backpack. I would not trust my camera to cheaper work suspenders with the alligator clips.

+1 on the Peak Design Capture system. I also have their slide strap but since I almost always have a backpack with me for other items, the Capture clip is my preferred method of carry. Very stable.

Not realy that close, the MH-47 is probably the fastest in the US Army with a max speed of about 190+/- mph. The only Army unit capable of aerial refueling is the 160th SOAR. What is really impressive is the those guys do it at night. NSDQ

Not me but your story does remind me of my Dad telling me about how he used my Grandfather's car to crack walnuts. Jacked up the rear so the wheel would spin while in gear and then fed in the walnuts that would then be thrown into the garage wall. That was with the whole fruit not just the nuts that you buy today in a bag. Released lots of dark "stain" onto hands and the garage wall. As the story goes, Grandma wasn't all too happy....

What's your budget? You can get a DYI kit with a 1.0 TB SSD and all the tools for ~$136-$211 depending on the drive. I believe your iMac has came with an extra drive slot so it is there waiting for a SSD. If your not confident in opening an iMac OWC also offers a turn-key option. Ship it to them and they will do the "upgrade" for about an additional $100 or so. Remember you will never be able to improve the screen resolution.

I'm still using my late 2009, 27-in iMac with a 480 GB SSD in place of the CD/DVD drive, 20 GB of RAM, upgraded to Bluetooth 4.0 and running macOS Catalina. Waiting to see what Apple has in store for this year's product cycle.

You will definitely see a performance improvement. I'm still running a late 2009 27" iMac that I upgraded to 20 GB RAM and a 500 GB SSD. The smaller (cheaper) SSSD works fine for me as I keep all my files on a Synology NAS device that I can access from anywhere with any computer. OWC's tutorials are excellent.

As much as I would love to trade up to the latest model with it's 5K true-tone display, the old computer just keeps on running. My only warning is that at some point, and you may already be there, is that you might not be able to maintain the same version of the macOS operating system on both machines. Although unsupported by Apple, I am running macOS Mojave ver 10.14 using Collin's (dosdude1.com) macOS patcher. He does have a newer patcher out for Catalina but I haven't gotten around to try that one yet.

Too many variables to try and give you exposure settings. Good luck and happy hunting.

Leaving next Monday on a 16 day cruise from New York to Greenland with nine days at sea. While I can imagine a use for my heavy Canon 80D with a 70-200 mm f/4 L lens and a 1.4x teleconverter, it will be limited. Probably some shots from the ship and maybe on a small boat on a wildlife cruise.

Philz,

I'll look for you onboard , carrying my 70D with a Tamron 16-300

The newer GoPros (starting I think with ver 5) are waterproof to a certain degree, about 30ft. There is a clear housing that can be used if you want to scuba dive to 130ft. There is no motion detector to trigger the camera, but if you can see the camera from inside you warm den, you might be within wifi/bluetooth range to trigger it from your phone or laptop.

Most GoPros before ver 5 did come standard with the dive housing. However they are now an add-on accessory. As previously stated, the battery is all that large so if you want extended time you will need to connect a battery pack, especially if you are going to use a wifi connection. Early GoPros are USB- micro B connectors, newer (5+) are USB-C. You will need to jury-rig some sort of weather protection if used in wet weather.

Take the one good screw out before you break it and take it down to your local hardware store. They will be able to help you determine the size and thread pitch. From there you will know what you need and can search the internet if you can't find a replacement locally. Big box hardware stores have a selection of "specialty hardware" and you might get lucky there.

I guess I fall into the camp of rummaging through old photo albums and shoeboxes at family gatherings. Mom broke her's up and distributed to us kids when she finally moved into an assisted living facility a few years ago. One of the sisters is the "keeper" of most of this historical photos and papers, but I think I have "The Piece." 19 in x 38 in photo of my Grandmother from 1907. I was told that one time she hung in the front window of the photographer's studio on Main St., now she is in our den.

Hard to get good light at 6 a.m., but you get the picture :)

Great. Thanks for the info.
Had one on my AE-1, but it would not fit the T1i.

Might be a difference between the AE-1 and T1i. I use the EP-EX15 II on both my T1i and 70D

Have a great trip

Do you know if it will it fit on the Canon eyepiece extender?
Probably not as the extender has a rubber cushion.

Yes, I have Hoodman eye pieces on both of my Canons while also using the EP-EX15 II extenders

If you are carrying a backpack, I'm a believer in the Capture system by Peak Design. https://www.peakdesign.com/collections/clips/products/capture I also use their "cutch strap" for a little piece of mind when hand-carrying.
