Some similarities with Australian rock art, but I suspect the Aussie versions are much older?
Sigma 100mm f2.8 macro lens also suits the D90
Special Relationship............UK and USA
Considering the short time we have separated and our common ancestry and heritage .....we seem to have diverged quite markedly ????!
British comics starred :- Dennis the Menace, Desperate Dan, Dan Dare, Roy of the Rovers, Bash Street Kids, PC 49,
American comics appear to star a bewildering galaxy of super-heroes including Capt America, Superman, Spiderman, SuperWoman, BatMan, and other too numerous to list,
Was Donald Trump invented by the same comic industry?.........don't think he would have caught on over here?.......... although we are getting close with Boris?
Again, we don't seem to have the same clear demarcation between the left and right political divide over social security and the welfare state.
Religious divisions are also markedly different, Fundamentalists and creationists do not appear to play a large role in the UK.Marked reduction in support for most faiths
Wish us luck over here, having at last thrown off the clammy embrace of the European Union .
WOW.............bet you did not tempt these with a "dry fly"
must be a bit of a problem finding a fry pan big enough............must present a challenge to the local ospreys?
Sad to say that there is graffiti on the walls of Pompeii saying much the same thing,
about the morals of the younger generation. We have been in decline for a very long time.
But I have to agree that RAP plumbs new depths !?
Seem to remember our parents did not appreciate Elvis or Rock n Roll but most of us grew up OK!?
Nice............looks cold there that day?

Thanks for an amusing set of pictures of these bushy-tailed little rascals. Your caption, “I love cashews” reminded me of my mother’s experience with a neighborhood squirrel. She started feeding a little gray squirrel peanuts on a daily basis. The cute little guy would actually scratch her storm door to beg for a nutty handout. She enjoyed feeding the little gray and he would take the peanuts from her hand. One day, the squirrel stopped coming for his handout and my mom feared a local cat got him. She told her story to a neighbor who lived across the street from her. “Oh Jean,” he explained. “The little squirrel is fine. I started feeding him cashews and he comes every day now.” Yep, the little guy got spoiled... Can’t say I blame him. I prefer cashews to peanuts also.
Thanks again for the cute pictures and reminding me of that story.

Thanks for an amusing set of pictures of these bus... (

UK grey squirrels dont seem to be scared of cats ! We bought our house in Cambridge, close to Cherry Hinton Hall ( Cambridge Folk Festival )
and the son of the vendor asked us to take on a semi-tame grey he had raised from a " Squib ", I said we would look out for it and it visited every day
and played with our siamese cat, flicking it's tail ......" Chase me !" could go straight up the garden wall, tree trunks etc, a quite unequal contest.
If anything the cat was the more scared of the two.............but it was a bit of a softie.
thanks for the information, are the local red squirrels immune to the grey's squirrel pox or are the populations sufficiently isolated.?
Maybe we could import some hopefully immune red squirrels ?
here in UK we have (endangered) Red Squirrels and imported Greys. The greys out-compete the reds and carry a pox that is fatal to the reds.
Are there any red squirrels in the USA?
Red squirrels are more successful in pine forests, some isolated locations, free of the greys are flourishing.
smaller, dare I say more attractive, and much shyer ......dont become a pest at the bird feeder
I am told they make good eating?.................pre-stuffed with peanuts !
one of our less popular alien immigrants!
always worth a try if it is the only way to accommodate a large group in a small area
not ideal......but better to attempt a result than no photo of an unrepeatable gathering
Nice idea............best to spray it bright pink in case security forces mistake you for a bad guy ??
some interesting observations................thanks
the cameras are very smart, menus are bewilderingly complicated.........especially so for people who used to carry 2 or more cameras to enable the
use of different ASA / ISO typically 25 Kodachrome to 400 ASA HP4 b&w . Now, in spite of all this sophistication in camera menu choice, lens focal length,
filters etc etc...... why do some photographers insist on subjecting their images to being "Photoshopped" to within an inch of their lives? Can be most misleading
and at worst garish, even painters, who have total control over their media try to resist "overworking" their image to the extent that it becomes unrealistic.
