I have been pondering foaming the inside of a hard shell suitcase, that way it be tailored to my needs and have two or four wheels. Probably more economical as well.

Personally, I prefer to purchase slightly used or a refurbished camera ( by manufacturer) than purchasing gray market. I have never had any problems with either and the savings can be substantial. Good Luck whatever your choice. Beware who you purchase from, there is lots of information on this site.

What would you be your advice?
Should I consider others?
Thank you.

If you wait till you get a ff camera the Nikon 28-300 paired with a 16 or 17-35 would be very reasonable for travel. As previously stated the 200-500 page is not a lens for most travel photography. I use the above with my D750 and I’m very pleased.Good Luck to you

I purchased a Panasonic Leica 100-400 mm lens and a Lumix GX8. When purchasing, I made the mistake of buying the Square Trade insurance wrongly thinking it was for both. But, it was apparently for the camera only. The camera, with the lens attached and in the camera bag, got knocked to a floor, and now both the camera and lens and lens are broken. Square Trade is handling the repair of my camera. But I don't know exactly what to do about this very expensive lens. I took it in to a camera repair shop in Asheville, NC, who said that the lens mount as well as some electrical connections are broke, but they cannot fix the lens mount because they cannot get a part for it. They said the lens looked fine. The lens was purchased (B & H) 4/18. Naturally, the warranty doesn't cover an accidental drop. I am sick about this. Any good advice? :( Thank you, friends!

Been reading this forum for a while. Lot’s of good advice ( and some amusing discussions). I am considering a refurbished Nikon d600 or 750. I currently have a d5200 with 18-55 kit lens, 35mm prime, Sigma 10-20 wide angle, Tamron 18-400, and Tamron 150-600g2. Will any of those work well on full frame? If not, what would be a good all around lens to start with? Another question. As one who shoots scenery and mostly birds, am I as well staying with DX (7200 maybe)? Have even considered going to Sony rx10iv. Fairly new to this, and at 64 yrs. old am not likely to become pro. Thanks for any and all advice.

Hi Wheeler, I purchased a refurbished D 750 from Nikon USA last year, it is an excellent camera. All of your lenses will work well with this camera as it has a DX mode and FX for full frame lenses. I think you will be absolutely thrilled with this camera, it has so much to offer. Just my opinion. Good Luck with whatever choice you make,I don’t think you can make a bad decision on any of the cameras you mentioned.
