In Grand Marais harbor. Artist’s point
No mist or post processing. Probably clarity of the ice and sunlight filtering through
Sea ice has built up along the shore, pushed by the wind.
Nice leading lines. Draws you into the photo
Thanks all for the kind words. It’s an amazing place to live.
Too many people in Southern California for me. My dad and sister live there.
Superior can be exciting in a boat. I’ve only been on the big lake when it’s glass smooth.
Here is the photo with the download enabled. Thanks!
I can do that when I get back home tonight. Thanks
Sunset with sea smoke in the Grand Marais, MN harbor. Temps about -15F with slight wind. Lots of pancake ice in the harbor after this last cold snap.
I like the birds in the foreground. Adds a lot to the composition!
I like the lower perspective and use it a lot. Below waste or even close to ground.
I took this one at a small water fall close to where I live in Northern Minnesota. I'm on my belly on a rock with the lens and camera underneath a fallen log. The water is almost at the same level as the camera. The water area is about 4 feet across. I call these "smallscapes." They are all over once you train your eye to see them.
Winter is the best time up here for photography. We retired up north because we don't like heat and humidity. Winters are great. Thanks for all the compliments.
