I agree, there should be categories, then each item should be listed by age. It is difficult to find specific topics.
The topics listed in the forum need to be subdived by subject, ie, Birds, Animals. Landscape, night pictures, etc.

I've used Nikon, but Sony is #1 in sales...I think it's not the camera, but you who take the picture that matters.

About 3 yrs ago I joined the herd that “cut the cord” and got rid of cable. At the time, had Dish, dropped from $120 to $55, and picked Hulu to watch. My issue is the constant buffering (screen freezing). Have read up on the routers and the differences between them. Last one I tried gave me slight improvement, but still can be maddening. My house is moderate size (1260 sq ft) and the router is just down the hall. Any tips, tricks? Do signal boosters help! Is it my tv?

Sounds like a speed issue. for a 4k tv, the minimum speed is 12mbs. The buffering is due to a lack of data, forcing your tv to buffer. Wifi will work fine if you have the right speed.

If your system is older that 2015, you should consider an upgrade. If you can, be sure you have an nvme drive as your primary drive, and if you can increase memory to 16-32gb. Older processors have few threads and cores, so this will definitely effect performance. Also, be sure you are using the latest version of windows 10, and pro is best.
Lastly, look at your task manager, and insure your are starting up applications at boot that are only absolutely neccessary.
Good luck!

Save the card for when you return home. Use a NEW card, formated on the phone, and continue to collect photos. When you get home, upload card one, then card 2. Format card one on your phone. Now you have a backup, should this happen again.

I am in the same ballpark as you when it comes to understanding the hows and the whys. Lightroom does not recognize those particular photos. You have done something foreign to LR. He wanted you to import those missing photos so LR knows where they are. Search past posts there have been how to's on how to solve your problem.

Since you have multiple copies, try reformating the drives, and then copying the good drive to the reformated drives.

I don’t think it matters which brand or model is chosen. It’s the software that does the work, not the machine.

I agree, but processing power, memory, and GPU are key to good photo processing. Especially if you want to enhance your photo's. I would recommend a laptop with at least 16 GB memory (I use 32gb), and at least a 1060 equivalent GPU. To best achieve this, a pc or laptop is configurable based on your needs, a laptop must have all you need now, and is generally more expensive, and a Mac (in my opinion) has limitations I don't like in terms of storage. Be sure that whatever you choose, you have a local backup drive to insure your "cloud" does not suddenly have a problem and all your pictures are lost.

We are packing up to move and my wife found this in her desk drawer. It was made by Giftco Inc. and their web site has the following:
Welcome to GIFTCO. We are a manufacturer and distributor of promotional products and personalized stuffed animals. We focus on plush toys, sports balls and wall clocks imprinted with your logo or slogan. Colors should be indicated by Pantone (PMS) color number. All prices include your printed logo.
There is no logo on the item it has a well worn "Press Here" on the top which you can see when rubbed with a pencil. It will punch a 2 7/8 inch wide perforation in a piece of paper.
I have an idea what it was used for, but the combined knowledge of this forum is awesome so I'll let you confirm or dash my suspicions.

I went to Kruger park last year. Excellent views of animals in the wild, and a friendly giraffe who stuck her head in our tour truck for a feeding and petting! Great fun, excellent photo opportunities.

Be sure your machine supports 16gb memory. Did you install the correct Ram module?

You are right. I forgot that deleted files reside in that deleted directory for the device.

If you deleted them when you read the card on your computer, the recycle bin will have the photo's if you have not "cleaned" out that bin. Else, it can be expensive to recover photo's. Try and internet search for "free" deleted file recovery software.
