A friend of mine and her husband are going to Alaska in June and she asked me for a camera recommendation. She does not want a DSLR. She doesn't want to have to mess with lenses. She didn't give me a price range but I would take a guess and say not over $500-$600 or less. She wants a camera that does not have a delay when she pushes the button. I've read some posts and this is what they suggested. Canon SX50 or SX60, Canon Power Shot SX series or the Nikon P610 or P900. I don't know anything about these cameras and I know many of you are very knowledgeable about this type of camera. Thank you for your suggestions.

If you are moving from an old MBP to a new IMac with the Retina display get the 27 inch display. But do get help at the Apple Store in setting up. I would suggest you make an appointment at the store to purchase your IMac and take your MBP with you. They will help with setup and will move your files to the new IMac. I didn't and had issues with the text size. It will normally be very sharp and much smaller than you are used to. They can and will help. If you can afford it, SSD is great. I have the 3T hybrid HD which is working well for me. My IMac has the upgraded processor, 16 MB memory and maxed out graphics option. It is great to use.
