I have them on both my cameras. They make switching from landscape to portrait on a tripod easy and convenient. They also help protect the camera body a little, when setting it down. My only recommendation is not to get a cheap one.

If the computer is for photo editing, I would go with the intel. Photo editing is all about calculations and intel is much better with calculations. Skimping on processor or RAM will reduce your editing experience.

Great place to compare processors, not all intel processors of the same class (I5, I7) perform equally.

I hate to ask this, but could you be too close to your subject for the lens?

Your camera isn't any good if the batteries don't last or worse, a cheap battery damages your camera. I would go with a quality battery!

I use BBF all the time for everything. Just set your camera to it and play with it. If you don't like it set it back.

I recommend B&H and as far as insurance goes, check with your renters or home owners, they may have an additional high value policy for cameras. It's cheaper then you may think.

I only use BBF and keep my Nikons set to AF-C for all shots. There is no reason not too.

Another great way would be to get a computer mouse pad or something like that. Stand the lens up, with the lens filter down flat on the pad, using pad to grip the front of the filter, from all around, apply a little pressure and unscrew the lens from the filter.

I would NOT touch that card with a ten foot pair of tweezers!
Look at what brand name 256Gb cards are going for ≈$100. They want $15??? No Way!
I use Sandisk. I have three 16Gb micros that I keep in SD adapters.
I won't put all of my eggs or marbles in one basket. My largest right now is 16Gb. They were on sale at a great price a year or so ago. I have five 8's and three 16's (and a 4Gb that I use for playing around. I'm sorry, experimenting.).

Ditto!

Something in the range of the Nikon 18-140 or 18-200 would be a great all around lens, without the weight.

I started noticing that B&H seems to be using FEDEX more and more lately. I'm not thrilled about it. Where I live, UPS is much more user friendly and it's going to push me towards Adorama and Amazon. I would be curious to know if one could request UPS or even USPS instead of FedEx.

Great pics! I was in Croatia a few times, but never for vacation.

I couldn't imagine not having it on a camera. With BBF, you can focus, set everything, and recompose without changing anything, when you press the shutter. In addition to BBF, there are times I use Front Button Focus as well.
