I don’t use Photos extensively but do use it often on my Mac, iPad and phone and have had no problems. I would suspect that the poor response from Apple for the past month may have to do with work place issues resulting from the virus. The seemingly random nature of your issues suggests a possible hardware problem. Maybe some ram or a graphics hardware degrading. Just a thought.

RX100m7 is a very good camera. Has a bit of a learning curve to get to all of its capacity. Manual is over 600 pages. Can take really fine pictures. It is pricey of course. I have been happy with mine.

I find the wind turbines graceful and a bit majestic. More importantly they are a component in the struggle to save the planet from individuals, lobbyists, politicians and greedy businessmen who have no regard for young current and future generations. They can be a problem for birds but so are cars and buildings. Global warming/climate change is a much greater threat to birds. I like taking pictures and videos of groups of wind turbines. Unfortunately it often has to be from a moving vehicle which is obviously a challenge.

I quit using LR a while back and now use Luminar 4. In LR I selected all edited photos and exported them to preserve the LR edits. All of the raw files still remain on the drive for any future editing with Luminar and the exported LR edits are also available. That does leave you with duplicates (Tiff or jpeg and raw) of the exported files though.

I am running Luminar 4 on a 27” iMac late 2013 model with 32 gig ram and 3 T hard drive. Luminar 4 runs much better and faster than 3 on my setup. It isn’t lightning fast but my computer is “old” in computer years. Version 3 was prone to crashing. Version 4 has only crashed once and I have been using it intensively since upgrading. I find the layout for editing tools much better. I have used the sky replacement to fill in washed out skies in pictures with limited amounts of sky area rather than replacing large areas of sky and the results are good. I did move all of my pictures to a single external drive, 1.8 T worth, and am not sure if having all data on one drive verses two is a speed factor or not.

Don’t miss Twin Arches which is near by. Pickett is also an international Dark Zone so great for pictures of the Milky Way. There are also more arches to see from trails around the campground. Leatherwood Ford and Angel Falls overlook are good places to go although Angel Falls is not a waterfall. It was blown up years ago by locals wanting to get their boats through. Still a pretty spot though.

I haven’t had that problem with my iPhone. Sounds like a settings issue. Are you using Safari?

You can also use keychain to save passwords which will just require touch or Face ID.

If you have a flash diffuser that is to small to be useful you can cut out the diffusing cloth front and use the rest as an anti-reflection hood. My modified 4x6 inch diffuser fits nicely over several lenses and allows straight and angled shots. It also folds up flat so it is easy to pack.

I think that the lake picture has the images reversed. The background images seem to be in front of the background images.

Has anyone tried printing the two images and using a stereo scope?

[quote=jerryc41]You can simply keep the SD cards in a secure case. Use one a day - or whatever - and put them aside. There's no actual backup, of course. ....”

My Pentax has two SD card slots so I am considering using the second card as a backup by having the pictures go to both cards. I think that having a high capacity card in slot 1 and swapping out as smaller capacity card each day or two from slot 2 and storing those cards in a “secure case” might be a workable plan. Will test this approach out on our next trip.

I had many crashes with the first version of Luminar 3 but after downloading the update I used it fairly intensely for about and hour and a half and had no issues at all. I have the Mac version.
