Photo is a Florida FHP car. My 80 year old brother, retired after 30 years with FHP really got a kick out of this. Thanks for the share.

Near Debary there is a place called the Highbanks Marina. An eco river tour works out of there that will take you to the off-shoots of the St John’s river for sights you seldom see. (https://www.stjohnsriverecotours.com/). The Swamp House Riverfront Grill is on the premises and is a true Florida treasure. I don’t have any skin in the game but obviously a big fan of both. This is where I take many out of state guests. The Black Hammock Airboat rides near Oviedo ( https://www.theblackhammock.com/) are another great opportunity, better during the winter months. I’d steer clear of the restaurants.

It really depends on what you are looking for. Scotland has the best scenery for photographing, especially up north around the locks, and yes, Edeborough is awesome but most of the country is remote and scantly populated. I like that.

Ireland has some of the friendliest people in the world and also has an abundance of photo opportunities. Instead of one or the other, I suggest a mindset of which do I do first? A website called TravelZoo.com has some amazing package deals deals that may put Ireland first.

In either case, if this a photo journey I highly recommend renting a car to get off the beaten track. Left-side driving may sound intimidating but you will quickly adjust. It is like driving in the left lane of a one way road.

Safe and happy travels.

I purchased a copy of Acrobat 9 around 2005(?). Still us it seamlessly on Windows 10. My brother purchase a copy on EBay for under $75 a few years ago and has had equal success. Be sure the original owner doesn’t have a copy still working and you should be good to go. Adobe does not, in any way, support this old of a product.

B&H mis-packaged a lens resulting in me receiving the wrong used lens. I called immediately expecting resistance, but could not have been more wrong. Upon hearing my explanation, I received an immediate apology, a return label within minutes via email and a promise that the correct lens would be sent as soon as they received the lens sent in error. Today I received the lens I ordered and could not be happier. Mistakes happen and I accept that. It is how the business responds to these type situations that speaks to their business culture. B&H made a stellar recovery.

OK, buy the scanner for $200, do your slides and post it here and eBay for $180 and your net cost is $20 after you sell it.

Not the same problem but I have an SB700 and left the batteries in too long. They leaked and it was toast. I sent it into Nikon. For $120 it came back like new, at half what it would have cost me to even buy a used one.

To Johnsh. Your comments are exactly what I was hoping for. Thank you. I knew from the start I had a focus issue. I tried zooming in on live screen to focus and though the eyepiece. This was the best I got, and yes unsatisfactory. I’ll try the daylight focus setting very soon. Thanks.

Some time ago while planning a trip to Las Vegas I posted a request for suggestions of low light polution areas near there to photo the stars. Of the many great suggestions I received, the most useful were suggestions that I use one of the many light pollution websites or apps. One app I found was most useful was The Light Pollution Map. Now I can go anywhere in the wold and find the closest-best star shooting. This was my first attempt and I have a big learning curve, but it was a great adventure. The photo below has not yet been processed. I went to the Valley of Fire State Park an hour northeast of Las Vegas. Concerned about the sign saying CLOSED AT SUNDOWN I told the very nice park ranger what I was doing. I was told to stay close to the road and be obvious what I was doing and it should not be a problem, and it wasn't. I was using a NIKKOR 50mm 1:1.4 G lens for 13 secs. Not happy about the focus, but there was a lot of wind (adding to my learning curve, in the middle of the desert, at night, who 'da thunk) and had to position the camera in the crook of my car's door jamb to mitigate the wind. Any way, after a lot of unnecessary jabber, thank y'all again for all that responded.

Were I in your shoes I would start shooting test shots before the game to establish my settings. First order of business would be to check my white balance. You are in a closed environment and for the most part should be able to work within the same settings. After that, I’d shoot a couple in auto and see if that gives me any hints for my settings. Then I would go to manual mode with those numbers and adjust, paying close attention to my histograms. While shooting the real game watch your histograms and, like the earlier guy said make final adjustments with your exposure compensation. (Yes I know, I am an armature and still have to check myself after most shots)

Way too cool. Awesome guitarist and singing. That is how I always hoped I could play but no amount of practice allowed it. He is a natural.

Try the Nikon Coolpix line. There should be something there to suit your needs, at a very reasonable price. But don’t complain: “But it doesn’t...........”

The same could be said about the phones in our pockets. While some are still yearning for the days of the flip phone (or table top phone in some cases) the majority of us who have embraced technology fully enjoy the many challenges and results of emerging technology. Nearly a year ago I purchased a new Nikon D750, a far cry from my old Minolta SRT101. Unable to navigate my new camera on my own, I turned once again to technology and viewed several YouTube videos on the basics of my specific camera. While still struggling with my photographic techniques I truly enjoy the benifits of my new camera.

I’m guessing your camera came with a kit zoom lens. Like FoofieNewfie said, it expends on your style. Shoot a few events with your zoom and see what the settings were. Make your selection based on that. Give yourself plenty of wiggle room with f-stops and buy good glass
