I use to use film, and started my own developing at age 8. It took me HOURS to get a color print that I felt was satisfactory. Digital is wonderful. You have tremendous control using Lightroom etc.
I finally got rid of my D80, and got a 3300. Of course none of the old lenses are compatible. I have 13x23 pictures all over my office that I took with my old D80. The quality is excellent, I get many complements. I have to question my wisdom of getting a new camera.
I use an Epson R2880. It does a great job. It uses 8 separate ink cartridges (Still expensive) BUT prints on 13x19 paper. If you are going to do serious work, you should use a printer that at least can do 13x19.
I have used LightRoom for years, but I recently purchased a Nikon 3400, and found that I cannot upload my RAW pictures to LightRoom. Is there a solution?
I used to develop my own color prints. It took HOURS to get one print write while struggling in the dark room. Those days, thankfully, are over. There is nothing like today's cameras and software such as Lightroom.
Apple makes horrible cables. You can get Anker cables from Amazon. They have worked for me when apple has failed.
Yes, I remember spending a hour, trying to print one frame of a color negative, and not getting the proper color balance. It is a blessing to have digital photography.
When I was 11 years old, I was developing my own film and making contact prints. (I did not have an enlarger). SLRs had not been invented yet, but I'm sure I could have mastered one.
